The <br />sum of $5,000 is requested for the purchase of ten Toughbooks. In addition, 10 <br />firefighter protection shelters are proposed and projected to cost $320 each. The <br />carrying case for each shelter is $13 to bring forth a cost estimate of $130 for a <br />quantity of ten units. The cost assumption includes 10 packs at a cost of $1470 <br />collectively. <br />Estimated cost assumptions; <br />Air Packs w/ Equipment 6,435 each <br />Thermal Imaging Cameras 4,495 each <br />Calibration Kits <br />10-3,500 <br />Gas Meters <br />10-875 <br />Toughbooks <br />10-5,000 <br />Shelters <br />10-3,200 <br />Cases <br />10-130 <br />Packs <br />10-1,470 <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT: <br />Late filed was a project request form from Mary Bradbury, Recreation Director <br />for a 12 -passenger Recreation Van to replace a 2004 Ford 8 -passenger van with <br />approximately 218,000 miles that does not have the ability to pass next year's <br />inspection without significant repairs. <br />A state bid quote from MHQ was included in the informational packet for a 2015 <br />Ford T350 Transit Van in the amount of $27,858. Mr. Bradbury has proposed to <br />purchase the van over a period of three years in a lease to own program funded by <br />the Revolving Fund of the Recreation Department. The quote from the certified <br />state vendor is valid until April 30, 2015. <br />The van is primarily used to transport extended day, school vacation clubs and <br />summer day camp children. The van is also used by the School Department to <br />transport small groups or classes to local field trips. It is also used by other Town <br />Departments to transport employees to training sessions and conferences. <br />
