2 <br />Capital Improvement Program Committee <br />Minutes <br />February 5, 2015 <br />Present: Joyce Mason, Town Manager <br />Michael Richardson, Selectmen Representative <br />Dawn Thayer, Town Accountant <br />Theresa Cook, Finance Committee Representative <br />Tom Mayo, Assistant Town Manager, Ex -officio member <br />Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Mason at 3:00 p.m. <br />Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br />The Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Committee continued their review of <br />FY2016 capital projects proposed for the May 2015 Town Meeting. <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: <br />6 -Wheel Dum — Year 2 of 3 - $43,202 <br />6 -Wheel Dump -- Year 2 of 3 - $43,202 <br />Chevrolet Pickup - $40,000 <br />6 -Wheel Dump — Year 1 of 3 - $60,000 <br />Dump Truck - $76,300 <br />Track Loader - $35,000 <br />Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works reviewed estimated disbursements <br />recommended for fiscal year 2016 with the Capital Improvement Committee. <br />Last year, Year -1 of a 3 -Year purchase was funded for the replacement the <br />following lease purchase vehicles, a 2000 Sterling 6 -Wheel Dump Truck and a <br />1988 Louisville 6 -Wheel Dump Truck. Obligated funding for the trucks in Year - <br />2 is $86,404. <br />Additional vehicles and equipment scheduled for replacement in fiscal year 2016 <br />include the replacement of the 2007 Chevy Silverado pickup truck for the <br />estimated sum of $40,000. Repairs to the truck are becoming more frequent and <br />more costly. The vehicle in its current condition will not pass inspection without <br />additional repairs. <br />Last season, the DPW 2008 Chevrolet 6 -Wheel Dump stopped working during the <br />blizzard. Repairs have been more frequent and costly. The DPW has proposed a <br />3 -Year lease purchase for its replacement. The vehicle is one of three large dump <br />trucks used for snow plowing, sanding and the hauling of materials for <br />construction projects. Year -1 of a 3 -Year lease amounts to $60,000 in FY2016. <br />
