Tom Bunker of BSS Design, representing 117 Industrial Drive, introduced himself to the Board.
Glen Harrington stated that 117 Industrial Drive was discussed at the Site Plan Review Committee meetings
several times. The placement of the building was dependent upon the Planning Board changing the radius in
the cul-de-sac, which had been approved by the Planning Board the previous night. The proposed septic
system will have the primary leaching and the reserve leaching built at the same time with a bull -run valve. The
drainage was revised to include a subsurface component to the drainage by adding a leach pit so that there is
no standing water in the bio -retention areas. An industrial tight tank is proposed to address any industrial
discharge from the building. The dumpster was shown on the previous plan against the side of the building.
The dumpster will be relocated onto a pad within an enclosure on the revised plan.
Kalliope Egloff made a motion that the Board of Health approve the Commercial Site and Septic Design Plan
for Clipper Landscape at 117 Industrial Drive with the list of the eight Board of Health Commercial
Requirements to be provided to Mr. Bunker. Lucy Burton seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously
approved.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Sign Expense Warrants. The Board members signed the expense warrants.
2, Review/Approve BOH Public Session Minutes: May 7, 2015.
Approval of the Board of Health May 7, 2015, Public Session minutes was continued until the next Board of
Health meeting with a full Board in attendance.
3. Farmer's Market: Mashpee Commons.
Mary Derr, Marketing Director at Mashpee Commons, introduced herself to the Board.
Glen Harrington commented that he reviewed the information, and it appears that the proposed Farmer's
Market is similar to the previous year. The Market will be organized by Rory Eames from the Organic Market
and James Lough from Backyard Gardens. The Farmer's Market will be held on Sundays only from 12 PM to 4
PM. The location has changed from the fountain square to the actual street.
Ms. Derr remarked that this year live music will be offered at the event. Ms. Derr spoke to Chief Rullo about
closing the street on either end so that vehicles do not have access to the area. Ms. Eames is ServSafe
certified and will be handling all of the paperwork for the Farmer's Market. A flat rate for a weekly health
inspection was permitted in previous years.
Glen Harrington stated that since Rory Eames is ServSafe certified she will oversee the food vendors. The
$100 weekly fee will be the same as last year. If samples are to be provided to the public by a vendor, then all
of the Conditions of the Board of Health's Temporary Food Vending Policy shall be met. Mr. Harrington will
provide a copy of the Policy to Ms. Derr. As the Certified Food Manager, Ms. Eames will be responsible for
having the food vendors comply with the requirement that all prepared foods shall be made in a residential or
commercial kitchen. Mr. Harrington has requested that a list of vendors and copies of their application be
provided weekly to the Board of Health prior to the event.
Kalliope Egloff inquired about recycling. Ms. Derr remarked that recycling baskets will be provided.
Kalliope Egloff made a motion that the Board of Health approve the Farmer's Market application for 2015 as
presented pending the Health Agent's inspection; the Certified Food Manager oversees the vendors and the
operations during the event; the fee is $100 per week; if samples are provided then all of the Temporary Food
Vending Policy conditions shall be met; all prepared foods should be made at a licensed facility and Rory
Eames is responsible for having the vendors comply with the commercial kitchen requirements; and a list of
vendors and applications shall be provided weekly to the Board of Health. Lucy Burton seconded the motion.
The motion was unanimously approved.
Pj
