Town of Mashpee <br />16 Great Neck Road North <br />Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br />HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE — PUBLIC SESSION <br />Mashpee Town Hall — Waquoit Meeting Room 2 <br />Thursday, February 26, 2015 — 2:00 PM <br />Committee Members Present: <br />Ruth Elias, Chairman <br />Janice Walford, Vice Chairman <br />Elinor Glener, Clerk <br />Mary Bradbury <br />John Cahalane <br />Kathy Mohler-Faria <br />Lynne Waterman <br />Veronica Warden <br />Member Absent: Also Present: <br />Mary Scanlan Gail Wilson, Director of Human Services <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Ruth Elias called the meeting to order at 2:00 PM. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS: None. <br />REVIEW OF MINUTES — 1/15/2015 <br />Continued to the next meeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />• Sub -Committee Reports. <br />Marketing - Veronica Warden distributed samples of the latest rack card draft and reported on the <br />updates to the rack card draft reviewed at the last Human Services meeting, stating that the <br />comments for changes from the last meeting had been incorporated into the current draft. Additional <br />adjustments and changes were agreed upon by the Committee, and Ms. Warden will go back to the <br />printer with requests for an updated draft for committee approval. <br />John Cahalane made a motion that the Committee approve the recommended changes to the draft <br />rack card. Lynne Waterman seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br />Ms. Warden will get pricing for both glossy and matte finish rack cards. <br />Community Relations — Janice Walford <br />Janice Walford distributed a draft copy of a volunteer job description for possible use by the <br />Mashpee Human Services Office. The job description includes the goal, the minimum requirements, <br />and additional job responsibilities of a volunteer. <br />Lynne Waterman talked about the Elder Services RSVP program on Cape Cod, stating that all the <br />services began as sponsorships and in 1973 joined together 750 RSVP chapters throughout the <br />country. Ms. Waterman stated that the Elder Services RSVP volunteer program is a private, non- <br />profit organization, and has an outstanding program but has been used sparingly by the Mashpee <br />Senior Center. Ms. Waterman stated that at any given time the Mashpee Senior Center has 200 <br />
