Ma O'Keeffe — Senior Mana er Comeast <br />Highlights of the overview provided by Mary O'Keeffe included the following: <br />• Mary provided the Board with literature on updates of Comcast services. <br />• If qualified, families can get Internet service for $995 per month. Also, if qualified a coupon for a <br />$150, computer is available. <br />• New home security/home control service. <br />• X1Box entertainment product. <br />• New remote introduced where customer gives verbal commands. <br />• Have descriptive voice fox TV programs for the blind. <br />• Customers can pay Comcast bill through Western Union. <br />• Customers can go to USPS store to return equipment to Comcast. USPS will box and ship to <br />Comcast at no charge. <br />• Fiber coming to Mashpee this year. <br />• TV service still bundled package ... Mary does not see industry going single channel selection. <br />Comments from Board and Attendees <br />Sean Morone <br />• Schools going to device -specific computer and school provides computer at no charge to 7a' grade - <br />up students. <br />• Schools use Chrome, Apple, Google. <br />David DelVecchio <br />Mashpee Library now has 36 computer stations; 10 iPads; and a laptop loan policy in place. <br />Dan Riley <br />• Dan noted Comcast changed their policy on battery back-up ... Comcast now charges for the back- <br />up battery used in the modem leased from Comcast. <br />• What is easiest way to give Comcast feedback? 2 examples: (1) can't clear ads on last watched <br />program; and (2) sports ad modified and not as good as original. Mary will check into this. <br />Lolita McCray <br />• Lot of links in the X1Box system. <br />Budget Status Update... Andrew Eliason reported Account 7317 has a current balance of $125,884.65, minus <br />$790.26 outstanding disbursements. <br />TT Updat s_ <br />David DelVecchio reported that about a year ago MCAT funded an outside antenna for the Historical huilding. The <br />antenna has been installed but a disclaimer is to be added so Town checking with Town Counsel on wording to be <br />used. <br />Control Roos <br />Andrew Eliason said under the terms of the new contract Mashpec TV is to take over the Control Room and we will <br />ask Wayne Taylor for update once the ball is rolling. <br />Wayne Taylor commented that he is going to meet sometime this week to get update. Wayne said the Board of <br />Selectmen put timeframe on when to get this up and running and out of here. Wayne said Mashpee TV covered the <br />Memorial Day event and broadcast on Channel 99 last night. <br />2 <br />
