2 Board of Selectmen Minutes March 30, 2015 Present: Selectman Taylor, Selectman Richardson, Selectman Sherman, Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Gottlieb Town Manager Joyce Mason Assistant Town Manager Tom Mayo Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Taylor at 6:30 p.m. Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room APPOINTMENTS &HEARINGS: Public Comment: Deane Turner was in attendance representing the Mashpee Men's Club to voice support of the Mashpee Community Media Center. Mr. Turner identified several elements of Mashpee TV programming that has benefited Men's Club and its membership. Frank Lord also made note of favorable programming featured on Mashpee TV, and of current and future documentary series planned to depict historic attributes of the Town which include the Mashpee Archives and the One Room Schoolhouse, John Gamache offered positive comments in support of the community programming. In addition to the public comment,the Board of Selectmen was in receipt of a letter from Michelle Itzkowitz dated March 30,2015 sharing perspective with regards to Mashpee TV. Joint Meeting with Mashpeg TV Executive Board Members: The Board of Selectmen met with members of the Mashpee TV Executive Board for the purpose of reviewing matters relative to the Agreement between the Town of Mashpee and the Mashpee Community Media Center. The term of the three-year Agreement is due to expire on May 21, 2015, As a result of several concerns, the Board of Selectmen voted 4-1 on November 3, 2014 to issue a Notice of Non-Renewal to the Mashpee Community Media Center. Since the Notice of Non-Renewal,the Board of Selectmen has met with the Mashpee Community Media Center to address concerns relative to financials,the operation of the facility, programming, leadership changes and the direction of the Media Center.
