2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 30, 2015 <br /> Present: Selectman Taylor, Selectman Richardson, Selectman Sherman, <br /> Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Gottlieb <br /> Town Manager Joyce Mason <br /> Assistant Town Manager Tom Mayo <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Taylor at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> APPOINTMENTS &HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Deane Turner was in attendance representing the Mashpee Men's Club to voice support <br /> of the Mashpee Community Media Center. Mr. Turner identified several elements of <br /> Mashpee TV programming that has benefited Men's Club and its membership. <br /> Frank Lord also made note of favorable programming featured on Mashpee TV, and of <br /> current and future documentary series planned to depict historic attributes of the Town <br /> which include the Mashpee Archives and the One Room Schoolhouse, <br /> John Gamache offered positive comments in support of the community programming. <br /> In addition to the public comment,the Board of Selectmen was in receipt of a letter from <br /> Michelle Itzkowitz dated March 30,2015 sharing perspective with regards to Mashpee <br /> TV. <br /> Joint Meeting with Mashpeg TV Executive Board Members: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with members of the Mashpee TV Executive Board for the <br /> purpose of reviewing matters relative to the Agreement between the Town of Mashpee <br /> and the Mashpee Community Media Center. The term of the three-year Agreement <br /> is due to expire on May 21, 2015, <br /> As a result of several concerns, the Board of Selectmen voted 4-1 on November 3, 2014 <br /> to issue a Notice of Non-Renewal to the Mashpee Community Media Center. Since the <br /> Notice of Non-Renewal,the Board of Selectmen has met with the Mashpee Community <br /> Media Center to address concerns relative to financials,the operation of the facility, <br /> programming, leadership changes and the direction of the Media Center. <br />
