Catherine Laurent reported that her equipment could not reach the shoaling building up at the various <br /> town landings caused by power loading. <br /> Popponesset Bay/Waquoit Bay Report: no adverse activities <br /> Sewer Committee: Nothing new to report <br /> Water Quality Update: Dr Howe's presentation is scheduled for August 27th at 6pm in town hall. <br /> Barnstable County Coastal Resource Commission: Nothing new to report <br /> Waterways Improvement Plan and Dredging: Ken stated that the issuance of the Chapter 91, <br /> Comprehensive Water Permit is still held up and he will monitor the status. Ken also remarked about <br /> the success of the "Save the Bay"effort at Poppy and that the dune grass is growing well to aid the total <br /> reclamation effort. <br /> New Business: Don Barton brought to the attention of the Commission of the deteriorating conditions <br /> of Sage Pond due to the entrance and exit of flushing waters was being blocked by increasing amounts <br /> of sand coming from somewhere.The Webnar property erosion is causing the sand deposits to increase <br /> and the trend was worsening. <br /> Town Manager Rodney Collins requests that the Waterways Commission and the Town's DPW work <br /> together to prepare a plan for all Town landings, condition/safety, repairs vs. replacement and <br /> contingency plans the long term. He continued that poor planning is a poor excuse for deteriorating <br /> conditions over time and we need to step up to the plate with the tasking so as to protect the resources <br /> so many citizens of Mashpee as well as summer visitors enjoy. <br /> Motion to adjourn was made by Al Wickel and 2nd by Bill Taylor at 10:22 AM. <br />
