MASHPEE WATERWAYS COMMISSION <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> MASHPEE, MA <br /> MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 8, 2015 MEETING <br /> Chairman Ken Bates called the meeting to order at 9:10 AM at the Mashpee Town Hall <br /> in the Popponesset Meeting Room <br /> Present: Don Barton, Ken Bates, Andrew Gottlieb, Stanton Healy, Catherine Laurent, <br /> Rich Santorum, Bill Taylor, Rick York <br /> Absent: Tim Leedham, Al Wicket <br /> Minutes of the August 11, 2015 Meeting: Motion made by Stan Healy to approve <br /> minutes, 2nd by Don Barton and unanimously approved. <br /> Harbormaster Report:Rick Santorum reported that there has been an increase on <br /> speed restrictions on Great River. The new pump-out boat is in service from the <br /> Harbormasters Dock and is in Poppy Bay on Sundays. <br /> Shellfish Constable Report: Rick reported no problems this summer. There was a <br /> question regarding possible access to Mitchell's Pier at the end of Simon's Narrows <br /> Road. The question remains as to who owns this property. Catherine was going to look <br /> into it. Rick mentioned that there was a Comprehensive Plan Implementation meeting <br /> for the new DNR on that Wednesday night. He also discussed the need for a trailer for <br /> the new pump-out boat which the Federal Government will cover 75% of the cost, but <br /> there would be a 45 day delay in reimbursement so there would be $3 to$4 thousand <br /> which needs to be covered for that 45 day period. Stan handed out an article on an <br /> existing New York Harbor Oyster plan. <br /> Water Quality: Don MacDonald reported that the 2015 summer water testing went very <br /> well. Brian Howes completed his presentation of the 2014 results on August 27th at the <br /> Town Halt. <br />
