Public Access: Rick York discussed the proposed Natural Resourses Department. He <br /> is the Acting Director at this time. He discussed the long and short term panning for <br /> public access. In Ockway Bay there is a plan for Walkway float replacement and kayak <br /> launch, dinghy storage, updating signs regarding power loading and possible scour <br /> pads at the end of the ramps to end the prop wash. For Mashpee — Wakeby there are <br /> no plans for a walkway float. John's Pond was discussed regarding any public moorings <br /> (not likely) and the problem with kayak launching delaying ramp access for power boats. <br /> Santuit Pond was mentioned as having very little power boating. <br /> There was a lengthy discussion 'regarding funding sources. Catherine and Rick agreed <br /> that this needs to be part of someone's annual budget process whether it is Natural <br /> Resources or DPW. The question was raised about what needs to be done this year <br /> and that the 2017 budget is coming up, but there was no conclusion or action item. <br /> There was further discussion on whether Great River ramp needs to be 1 or 2 cars wide <br /> and alternative locations for a kayak launch was discussed. Rick York stated that for his <br /> shellfish solution to work the ramp needs to be a double and parking needs to be <br /> increased to support up to 50 commercial fishermen. The Commission supports Mr. <br /> York's assessment of needs for the ramp access. <br /> New Business: Don Barton read a prepared statement regarding his position on beach <br /> access via Will's Work Way. <br /> A motion to adjourn was made by Stan Healy, 2"" by Bill Taylor.
