MASHPEE WASTE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE <br /> TUESDAY,NOVEMBER 17,2015 <br /> WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM–TOWN HALL <br /> Present: Kalliope Egloff,Tom O'Hara,Andrew McKelvey, Tom Murphy,Catherine Laurent, <br /> Rodney Collins,Glenn Santos, and Wayne BevAcqua(participating remotely via conference <br /> call). <br /> Absent: John Cahalane,Richard Elrick,and Geoff Gorman. <br /> Audience: Sam Houghton-Mashpee Enterprise <br /> Tom O'Hara,Chairman,called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. <br /> Pledge of Allegiance was recited,followed by a moment of silence. <br /> Public Comment...None. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Tom Murphy motioned to accept the minutes of October 26,2015 as presented. Catherine <br /> Laurent seconded this motion. <br /> VOTE: 7-Yes; I-Abstain. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Catherine Laurent–yes Andrew McKelvey-yes <br /> Tom Murphy–yes Wayne BevAcqua–yes <br /> Rodney Collins–yes Kalliope Egloff–yes <br /> Tom O'Hara--yes Glenn Santos- abstain <br /> Cameras at Transfer Station <br /> Rodney Collins reported he spoke with the IT Director who said essentially you get what you pay <br /> for. Chief Collins said it is important in this circumstance to do it right. Catherine Laurent said <br /> they met with the vendor this past Friday at the site and the vendor will submit a proposal for 3 <br /> conventional cameras-2 exterior; 1 interior—all to be placed at the Gate House. At this point, <br /> eliminated placing any camera within the trash building due to cost. Catherine said building is <br /> metal so there is concern regarding camera exposure to elements, as well as costs of installing <br /> wiring and other factors. Chief Collins said there is always potential of adding cameras in the <br /> future. He said this is the right direction in taking the initial step. <br /> Committee Member Suggestions <br /> The following suggestions were submitted by members of the Committee and next Waste <br /> Management meeting these ideas will reviewed and motions made on final recommendations to <br /> be submitted to the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Glenn Santos <br /> Glenn suggested the Town should take a look at low-income Transfer Station sticker. If offered, <br /> Glenn said you have to request income tax form filed by the requester to verify qualified. In <br /> addition,he said Town has to designate who has authority to approve issuance of low-income <br /> sticker. <br />
