Director, and Gus Fredericks,Recreation Director, were in
attendance for discussion of installation of the beach access ramp.
Bob W. explained that the committee wanted to discuss dates as to when they should do
the seasonal installation of the beach mat. He suggested a test run for laying it out to
make sure there is a good configuration.
Catherine said that she had no problem with the configuration. The only concern is that
the D.P.W. crew rakes the beach weekly during the season and suggested that the mat be
configured so that they are not rolling it out each time and that they leave enough room
for the beach rake to get by.
Bob indicated that there are two 30' sections, 5' wide and it could be laid out"L" shaped
or"T" shaped to the mean high tide.
Catherine commented that might create a problem for them. Bob W. said that he and
Charlie went to the beach last summer and they thought the best place was near the center
lifeguard stand.
