-3-
Announce Mert's Impending Move to Mashpee South(Naples,Fla.
Alternate committee member,Mert Sapers, will be selling his house in Mashpee and moving to Florida. It was
agreed that he would be recommended to continue as an Alternate to the Committee. Mert was in agreement until
such time that he moves.
New Business
Relative to access issues,Bob W. asked if anyone encounters access problems to let him know. Discussion
centered around mailing a letter in a mailbox that one would not need to get out of the vehicle. There are standalone
boxes near the Stop and Shop and Town Hall, but the committee members felt that they should talk to someone
about the need for an elongated box or drop off spot. Bob said that he asked Mert to talk to some people to find out
how we can get it started and where we want to put it.
Bob W. indicated that he spoke with Gus Frederick at Town meeting relative to SMILE MASS.org fi•om Duxbwy
who are trying to help out people in modifying their homes. They are providing beach wheel chairs for disabled
children and families. Gus is interested in the wheel chairs from SMILE MASS(Small Miracles in Life Exist);
however,he is not sure of the funding. They are surf chairs that can go into the water. They are like a lounge chair
which floatsin the water which are not heavy and have a flotation on the arms. The wheel chairs are at the
Yarmouth Recreation Department. The cost is$2,000. Charlie suggested tying this into South Cape Advisory
Committee. (Note: After the meeting, while at an event in Yarmouth,Gus Frederick acquired a free Mobi-Chair
for Mashpee).
Adjourn
Marilyn Farren moved to adjourn the meeting at 3:20 p.m.
Motion Seconded by Charlie Maintanis.
Vote: 4-0(Kathleen Moore left the meeting early)
Allin favor.
Respectfully Submitte .
Marilyn Farren,A.D.A.Committee Member
