With regard to the Town's beach, Bill asked if they would be patrolling the beach. Deb <br /> commented that it is part of Mashpee, and she hoped that the Beach Attendants would not <br /> allow people to park illegally in the handicapped parkinspaces. She said that she would <br /> 9 1 <br /> talk with Gus Frederick, the Leisure Services Director, and Dottie Harper, the Beach <br /> Superintendent, asking them to make sure that the Gate Attendants not allow people to <br /> park in the handicapped spots. Bill questioned whether the signs were there especially <br /> since things were torn up. It was noted that the beach repair to the parking lot had been <br /> completed, Deb agreed to send an e-mail to Gus Frederick,Leisure Service Director and <br /> Greg Taylor,the D.P.W. Director. <br /> Charlie commented that the free clinic is going ahead and that it was originally approved <br /> for three handicapped parking spaces near the building. He said that 10% of the spaces <br /> should be slotted for handicapped parking, which comes out to 4.5 spaces. Charlie says <br /> that he will keep an eye on this. He commented that they could spend more time <br /> planning parking lots as the entrance is quite a distance. Deb commented that healthy <br /> people should try using a wheel chair for a day. Trish said that there are handicapped <br /> awareness workshops for kids through the school. Deb said that she would be lenient <br /> with seniors who do not qualify for placards. <br /> House Numbering <br /> Deb Dami commented that in performing her Town Clerk duties, she has not been able to <br /> get to the house numbering. <br /> Money from Parking Tickets <br /> Deb suggested that the committee talk with Town Counsel or to have Terri Cook talk <br /> with Joyce to help set up an account for the committee,. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 2:52 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted- <br /> Marilyn Farren <br />
