I
3
-3-
School ReprpsenigiY&
All were in favor to recommend Patricia Lugo, School Business Manager,to be
appointed to the A.D.A. Committee as the liaison for the school. Bob W. will send a
memo to the Board of Selectmen.
ReDresent tion t /fto 01her Boar
In follow up to discussion about members serving as ex-officio members to other Boards
such as Planning, Zoning Board of Appeals, etc., Terri advised that the Town Manager
suggested that members attend the meetings as opposed to being appointed as ex-officios.
Terri noted that Charlie Maintanis and Richard Stevens attend the Design Review
meetings and the Planning& Construction meetings and Building is also involved
upfront on issues going before the Planning Board. Richard Stevens attends the Zoning
Board of Appeals Meetings. There was discussion about the minutes of these committees
being sent to the A.D.A. Committee.
Bob Wooldridge said that he feels the reaction from members of these committees is
"that it is not their job" (to be aware of the needs of handicapped people) and that he is
looking for a way to get some awareness. He commented that at the Selectmen meetings,
every time there is an event, handicapped parking is never mentioned and the Zoning
Board of Appeals never asks about handicapped parking. Charlie commented that it is
part of the process and that they (Building) are out of the loop on 40B. Bob W. said that
he attended meetings on the Mashpee Commons 40B project and did not feel welcomed.
He said that he did have a conversation with Doug Storrs.
Charlie said that there are projects coming through the building department relating to
521 CMR, and he invited Bob to sit down to review those projects. Charlie said that he
has handled things on-site mentioning the parking spaces for the free clinic and the
situation at KenMark Office Supplies.
Charlie mentioned that the Cape Cod Commission transportation specifications and the
fact that they need help. It was suggested that Ernie Virgilio be invited to attend another
A.D.A. meeting.
Bob W. agreed that it is valuable having Charlie M. to back step. Charlie commented
that more eyes and ears are better.
Bob W. inquired about disabled issues on the radar screen. Terri Cook said that there has
to be public hearings on projects and a legal notice.
