-4-
Bob commented that there are provisions for Alternates on the Zoning Board of Appeals
of up to four people. Terri Cook said that it is up to the Selectmen as to whether they
Want to appoint more members,
After further discussion, Terri Cook said that it would go against the charter for
individuals to serve on two committees.
Charlie M. will start bringing the minutes on Design Review and Planning and
Construction to the meetings. Other minutes from the Planning Board, Z,B.A.,
Affordable Housing and the Housing Authority plus an agenda would be obtained as
well.
Handicaimed Access
There was review of a letter dated November 1, 2007 from Charlie Maintanis, Local
Building Inspector,to Tom O'Hara, Planning Board Member regarding handicapped
access problems at South Cape Village. It was noted that it was an unusual design and
that more handicapped spaces were needed, cross walks, and that the brick could be
eliminated.
CQMCAST_Contract
With regard to the COMCAST Contract discussion at a recent Selectmen's meeting, Terri
Cook advised that they talked about basic negotiation for the contract and things specific
to Mashpee which the Selectmen have voted on. Terri said that she has made a notation
to discuss closed captioning. Beverly inquired as to whether there were separate
contracts. Terri said that she thinks it's all or nothing and they awarded it to go through
the consortium.
All Cape Ad Hoc Committee M§eting on Visitabilily
Mert Sapers and Bob Wooldridge attended an Ad Hoc Committee Meeting on Visitability
last month. There is minimum accessibility built into the building code which can be
done through the Architectural Access Board. Bob advised that the Town of Eastham
accomplished implementing a town policy which encourages visitability access and
requires wider hallways and door ways and one bathroom someone can get in and out of
with dignity. The Town of Eastham has adopted this as a desirable policy. They are
asking for support in changing the building code.
The committee members discussed forwarding a letter to the Board of Selectmen stating
that they would like the Town of Mashpee to adopt a voluntary standard policy for the
purpose of raising awareness.
Trish Parolski motioned to have Bob Wooldridge and Charlie Maintanis meet to tweak
the Eastham policy and make it specific to Mashpee and then send it to the Board of
Selectmen for the purpose of having it adopted as a policy for the Town ofMashpee.
Beverly Wooldridge seconded. All in favor.
