they were only allowed to build three homes, unless it could be increased to ten through 40B. <br /> Selectman Richardson stated that, should a decision be made to sell the property, it would go to <br /> auction with the lowest dollar figure Mashpee would be willing to accept. Should the property not sell, <br /> the property could be reconsidered. Selectman Richardson recommended that the Affordable Housing <br /> Committee move forward on other properties. <br /> Other Sites <br /> Selectman Richardson distributed maps of two available parcels; Old Barnstable Road Site and <br /> Heritage Park Site. .Selectman Richardson noted that site benefits were listed on each of the maps. <br /> Mr. Mayo stated that the RTA had added routes to the Sandwich line, including stops at Mashpee <br /> Town Hall. <br /> The Chair expressed his interest in completing a feasibility study on one or both of the parcels, noting <br /> that he had been in contact with someone who could acquire an $8,000 grant to fund a feasibility study. <br /> Ms. Mason indicated that mitigation funds were also available for a feasibility study. The Chair <br /> expressed concern about the Heritage Park site's proximity to the air base, adding that properties in the <br /> fly-over zone would not be eligible for federal funding and indicated that he would follow up with Mr. <br /> Ruchinskas, Mr. Mayo noted that new bike paths would be extended to Mashpee Commons. <br /> Ms. Egloff expressed enthusiasm about the two lots offering lots of space and accessibility. Selectman <br /> Sherman suggested the possibility of conducting a feasibility study for both parcels. Ms. Mason <br /> agreed, suggesting one property may turn out to be better than that other. The Chair expressed concern <br /> about the remoteness from the center of town. Ms. Egloff noted that the Old Barnstable Road site <br /> offered a sidewalk to Route 151 and Mashpee Commons. Ms. Egloff inquired whether the Old <br /> Barnstable Road site would include a tie-in to a nearby wastewater treatment site. Mr. Mayo suggested <br /> that a tie-in would require further investigation. The Chair indicated that Old Barnstable had been the <br /> Committee's second choice. <br /> The Chair noted the Committee's hope to pursue affordable apartments. Ms. Egloff suggested the <br /> necessity for a needs assessment to gain a clear understanding of the affordable housing needs for the <br /> Town before finalizing housing plans. The Chair stated he liked the Old Barnstable site for its shape <br /> but the Heritage Park site for its size. Mr. lsbitz noted that the Heritage Park site would likely create a <br /> significant utility development cost. <br /> The Chair reviewed the other previously considered lots such as Bates Road, which was considered for <br /> a recreational building and Mashpee Neck Road, which seemed to be inaccessible. Ms. Egloff <br /> suggested that the Committee accept the two parcels offered by the Town and move forward. It was <br /> agreed that a feasibility study be completed for both parcels. Ms. Mason offered to follow up <br /> regarding Mass. Housing's $8,000, in order to move forward. The Chair will email the contact <br /> information to Ms. Mason. <br /> Ms. Egloff made a motion that the Affordable Housing Committee and the Town of Mashpee <br /> contract out through the Town Manager and the Board of Selectmen to do a feasibility study for <br /> affordable housing projects on Map 26,Lot t0 and Map 60, Lot 2.
