The 2012 figures from the Cape Cod Commission show an affordable housing
percentage of 4.3. There was agreement that the source of figures should be identified with the
Cape Cod Commission and with Tom.Fudala. It was suggested that the most recent, accurate
figures be used for the production plan. There was discussion regarding the development of 31
units of affordable housing each year and the Mashpee's efforts to reach the goal of 10%
affordable housing stock. There was agreement that Mashpee should continue to make a good
faith effort to reach the affordable housing goal. It was
also recommended that the information be made available through a GIS layer. It was suggested
that the State, through DHCD, should have a list of affordable housing units in Mashpee.
Selectman Richardson inquired about accessory apartments_ Ms. Egloff responded that zoning
was needed in order to allow accessory apartments. Further discussion was
deferred until the figures and intent were more clearly defined.
