Committee was in agreement that the 2010 numbers be used only. Ms. Egloff referenced the
need to also further consider the declining 25-44 age range and housing needs and the increases
in the senior population.
Pg. 8 Other towns' income grew at a faster rate than Mashpee and the figures were reflected in
the chart. It was theorized that it could be due to a less active workforce.
Pg. 9 Year-round units totaled 6,473 in 2010
Pg. 10 The Chair recommended that Table 5 not be changed at this time as Assessors were
working on their database.
Pg. 11 New figures were added to Table 6
Pg. 12 The Chair has been unable to identify 277 affordable housing units as reported by
DHCD. There was agreement that 277 be submitted since DHCD had identified that as the total
number of units and further research would identify the correct figure.
Pg. 13 Table 8 identifies the number of units at each affordable housing location, reflecting the
possibility that documentation with DHCD may be missing and should be clarified after
submitting the plan.
Pg. 14 Deficient by 647 units
Action Items
Pg. 35 Policy 1, Action 2 reasonable
Pg. 3 6 Action 3 reasonable
Action 5 Affordable Housing Committee cannot allocate funds. It was recommended
that wording be changed to "Seek a sufficient allocation of Community Preservation Funds to
enable the Town to carry out this plan."
Action 6 Resolved with Revolving Loan Fund, change wording to"monitor"
Pg. 37 Policy 2, Action 1 remove AFC since Committee is unable to produce affordable
housing units
Action 2 reasonable
Pg. 38 Action 7 AFC would not be responsible agency, recommend change to ZBA and
Planning Board
Action 8 Other departments should be added as responsible agencies and "on a monthly
basis" should be removed
Pg. 39 Action 9 reasonable
Action 10 May not be reasonable; ZBA&Planning may be able to execute more
effectively
Pg. 40 Policy 3, Action 6 It was noted that a regulatory department within the Town be
responsible since the AFC has nothing to do with fees
Once the document was approved, Ms. Egloff recommended that a separate document be created
to incorporate all actions for which the AFC would be responsible. Chairman Abbott will update
the document and forward it to Mr. Fudala for action. Selectman Richardson will make copies to
share the document with the Selectmen.
Ms. Egloff made a motion to approve the Affordable Housing& Production Plain as
amended, Chairman Abbott seconded the motion. All voted unanimously.
2
