There was reference to the Planning Board's concern about Mashpee <br /> Commons' piecemeal approach as with the bank and proposed assisted living facility. <br /> NEW BUSEVE SS <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority <br /> Breezy acres lI has been re-named.Great Cove Community(1.0 units). The Mashpee Housing <br /> Authority would have a public hearing with the Zoning Board on August 22 for approval of <br /> modifications and changes. The Chair also reported that Ms. Botsford wished to meet with the <br /> Town regarding the acquisition of land for the Housing Authority. Selectman Richardson <br /> indicated that he would notify the AHC if a,meeting occurs.. <br /> Motel Conversion <br /> The Chair referenced documentation received from'Yarmouth regarding motel conversions to <br /> affordable housing and reported that Plaza del. Sol was currently available for sale in Mashpee on <br /> Rt. 130. Chairman Abbott reported that owner, Peter White, had been good to residents <br /> providing them with longer-terra affordable housing as needed. The Chair suggested that 10 <br /> units of affordable rentals could be created, along with a two-story apartment. The Chair had <br /> acquired financial information for the motel. Bylaw changes would be needed in order to <br /> convert the motel. The Chair suggested speaking with Planning Board Chair, Mary Waygan, <br /> who also works with Yarmouth and could provide additional information regarding motel <br /> conversion. Selectman Richardson suggested that the Affordable Housing Trust could also look <br /> into motel conversion. There was also discussion regarding the possible development located <br /> behind the funeral home, but there were still issues that needed to be addressed before the <br /> developer could move forward. <br /> Selectman's Meeting <br /> The Board of Selectmen will be meeting on August 20 and will reconsider-the Production Plan, <br /> It was also stated that the Planning Board meeting would take place on August 15. <br /> MEETING ADJOURNMENT <br /> The next meeting would occur on. September 4 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mr. Johnson made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Isbitz seconded the motion, All voted <br /> unanimously.
