S <br /> Mashpee Affordable housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> September 4, 2012 at 6:30 pm <br /> Meeting Room 2, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Walter Abbott,Berkeley Johnson, Kalliope Egloff, Allan Isbitz <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the roll was called. <br /> Ms. Egloff made a motion to add two pieces of correspondence to the agenda. Mr. Isbitz <br /> seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES-August 7, 2012 <br /> Mr. Johnson made a motion that the minutes be approved. Mr. Isbitz seconded the <br /> motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Planned Production Plan <br /> Chairman Abbott received no information confirming whether the Board of Selectmen had <br /> approved the submitted Planned Production Plan. There was discussion regarding the <br /> requirements set by the State to receive the funding to move forward on a feasibility study. A <br /> recent email confirmed that funding would be available to fund a study for one site. The Chair <br /> suggested that the goals assigned to the Affordable Housing Committee in the Plan be discussed <br /> at a future meeting. <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority General Information <br /> Mr. Isbitz reported that he met with Leila Botsford at the Mashpee Housing Authority in order to <br /> learn more about their programs and efforts, particularly as it related to assisting with home <br /> ownership and developing housing. Mr. Isbitz shared with Ms. Botsford additional information <br /> about cottage housing and its ability to offer higher density housing as rentals or <br /> homeownership. Chairman Abbott recommended that cottage housing be discussed in further <br /> detail at a future meeting. <br /> The Chair attended the 8122 ZBA meeting regarding two articles about Great Cove Community. <br /> The Chair reported that construction would begin at the end of the month. <br /> Chairman Abbott also spoke with Ms. Botsford about a joint meeting. Ms. Egloff stated that, at <br /> a previous joint meeting, there was discussion that the Affordable Housing Committee would <br /> generate interest and initiate affordable housing projects and that the Mashpee Housing <br /> Authority would run with the projects. Committee members expressed agreement that they <br /> wished to collaborate with the Housing Authority. <br /> Feasibility Study <br /> The Chair reported that he had contacted Selectman Richardson to check on the availability of <br /> land in order to identify the parcel to be considered for a feasibility study, but he had not yet <br />
