•
COMMUNICATIONS/CORRESPONDENCE:
State Audit Report: Mrs. Botsford stated that she had ernailed the board that the report had cone in with
no findings and she distributed to each hoard member their bound copy. Mrs. Botsford was
congratulated on the results and all the hard work that goes into it.
Email from Jere Mason/Audit: Mrs. Botsford shared with the board an email string that originally started
with an email to the chair from Town Manager Joyce Mason in which she stated that the tern needs to
audit the CPC funds used for our Housing Assistance Program. Mr. Halpern had forwarded the email to
Mrs. Botsford to reply to in wh.ich she did (continuance of email string). Mrs. Botsford pointed out to Ms.
Mason that vire are subject and comply with several audits and that she is unaware of any additional
audits needed. Ms. Mason responded stating that her auditor has asked that she seek approval from the
board and if not in agreement then she-will schedule her""Risk Assessment Team""to do an internal
review. She specifically asked to know the position of the beard, therefore it was placed on tonight's
agenda. Mrs. Botsford stated that the housing authority has already provided an accounts payable report
to the selectmen and has nothing to hide; Audits, however, are time consuming and cost money and no
other CPC-funded program/project is being required to undergo a special audit. Mrs. Botsford contacted
Stuart Saginor, the Executive Director of the Community Preservation coalition in Boston, and it was
suggested that vire ask for the citation in state statute that gives the town the authority to make this
requirement. Mrs. Botsford shared that email with the board, as well. All members reviewed ali the
emails and it was agreed that Mr. aginor's email sums it all up. A mot0i n was made by Mr. Marsch
and seconded by Mr, Shackett to have Mrs. Botsford send a letter to Ms. Mason informing her
f the board's position that based upon the information received, there is no further audit
required. The motion carried. Mrs. Botsford stated she would send the letter.
NET ME 'TIN : Given Mrs. Botsford's medical leave, there will be no June meeting. The next (meeting
will be Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 6:00 PM unless changed beforehand.
MEETING ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Mr. Laporte and seconded by Mr. Shackett t
adjourn.
