IF
Allen and seconded by Mr, Shackett to write off$2,128.54 in unc ll ctable rent/damages as
presented. The motion was adopted.
OLD BUSINESS:
Great Cove Communityupdate: Mrs. Botsford informed the board that there have been a couple of issues
and a few things happening to delay lease up at GCC. First, there was a deliberate vandalism, where
someone put a hese through a basement window and turned in on — minimal damage. Landscapers then
removed all hoses from the property (they were there for grass watering). Secondly, an upstairs pipe
burst and flooded one unit completely. It has been classified as a total loss. HAC is working with
insurance company and contractors to resolve. We expect the unit to be off-line for a while. The other
major thing holding up leasing was a dispute between two funding agencies on legal items. That took a
while to resolve (and was done just recently . Carol has been processing applications, then they go to
H C for approval, then to MassHousing Partnership for approval, and then back to HAC for subsidy
review. The first lease up is to take place on July 15 and hopefully more will follow soon afterwards.
CPC application submittal: Mrs. Botsford stated she has did submit the two applications to the CPC for a
Buy-Down Program, and extension of the Housing Assistance Program. After a brief discussion,
motion was made by Mr, Laporte and seconded by Ms. Allen to withdraw both applications at
this time, with possibility of submitting at a later time. The motion was adopted.
N E w1 BUSINESS:
Capital Improvement Plan Review and Adoption: Mrs. Basford provided the board with copies of the
proposed Capital Improvement Pian covering Fiscal Year 2015 — 2019. Each was reviewed in detail. Mrs.
Botsford schedule a meeting with residents earlier this month to review and no suggestions for changes
were made by residents. After review, a motion was made by Mr. Laporte and seconded by Mr.
hackett to accept the proposed capital Improvement vement Plan and submit to DHCD for approval.
The motion was adopted.
BreeKy Acres/Septic Lift Station Project Close out: Mrs. Botsford informed the board that the only item
that is left undone on this project is growing of the grass, which the contractor has attempted twice. She
suggested that since contractor was in agreement to withhold $1,000.00 for this and close out the
project, that the board approve it. A motion was made by Ms. Allen and seconded by Mr.
hackett to approve final payment and close out the project. The motion was adopted. Mrs.
Botsford will sign the paperwork and submit to DHCD.
Comcast Cable Increase: Mrs. Botsford informed the board that Comcast has again increased the cable
rate for Homeyer Village to $14.53. Fight now, residents are paying $14.00. She suggests increasing
residents to $15.00 each, so that the community room TV Cable can be mostly paid for. A motion was
made by Mr. Shackett and'seconded by Ms. Allen to approve increasing resident cable t
$15.00 per month. The motion was adopted. Mrs. Botsford will get notices out to residents.
OTHER. BRINES : none
COMMUNI ATI N O ESP N ENCS: Mrs. Botsford reported that the Board of Selectmen
requested information on the Housing Assistance Program, funded by the Community Preservation
Committee. She provided members with a copy of the correspondence she sent to them, including the
financial records for the program. Program Guidelines were also again provided to them. She then
shared with the board emails that Mr. Halpern had forwarded to her from Selectmen Chairman Wayne
Taylor consisting of questions that three other selectmen had regarding the Housing Assistance Program.
Ernails were from Mr. Gottlieb , Mr. Richardson, and Ms. Sherman. Mrs. Botsford responded to them, her
answers in red. The board reviewed the correspondence and expressed offense, particular to Mr.
Fichardson's implied threat that"Unless we get some answers, it's not going to go away.+ The board
i
Page 3 of
