Mr. Abbott recommended that a letter be sent to the Z A to state the <br /> Committee's position on the application. <br /> motion was made by Mr. Abbott to send the Zoning Board a letter stating that the Committee is <br /> in agreement with Habitat for Humanity's development of 12 Russell Ro,%d. Mr. Johnson seconded <br /> the notion. All voted unanimously. <br /> Chairman Trebat will send the letter and Mr. Abbott will attend the meeting and voice the Committee's <br /> support. <br /> Other Business <br /> Alice Lopez-TIAs. Lgloff sent an email suggesting that the Committee acknowledge the passing of Alice <br /> Lopez. leis. Lopez has served as the vice Chair for the Affordable Housing Committee for many years <br /> and has been actively involved in affordable housing issues for the Wampanoag'Tribe. Ms. Lopez offered <br /> a long time of service to the communities of both Mashpee and Cape Cod as an advocate and <br /> spokesperson for both the Tribe and affordable housing. <br /> i <br /> motion was made by Mr. Johnson that the Committee adopt an appropriate resolution in <br /> recognizing Ms. Lopez's contributions and that the Chainnan send it to her family in a letter. Mr. <br /> Abbott seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> Selectman Richardson suggested that the Committee also forward the resolution to the Board of <br /> Selectmen so that the Board can recognize Ifs. Lope 's contributions. <br /> oS RPP for Development of Affordable Housing on 3 Lots <br /> Chairman Trebat inquired abort the role of the Affordable Dousing Committee in reference to the hoard <br /> of Selectmen and asked for ars update from Selectman Richardson regarding the RFP. Selectman <br /> Richardson reported that 3 pieces of property had been identified for afrordable.housing and approved by <br /> residents at the May Town Meeting in 2010. Selectman Richardson suggested that the information should <br /> e provided to the Affordable Dousing Committee, but that these lots had been in the works for some time <br /> when the Affordable Housing Committee was less active. Selectman Richardson stated that the RFP is <br /> standard and has been used in the past. Mr. Abbott recommended that the information be provided to the <br /> Committee in advance and expressed interest in reviewing the RFP and possibly adding green <br /> components. Selectman Richardson suggested the possibility of adding a preference for Mashpee <br /> residents. Selectman Richardson reported that 1 lashpee resident Torn O'Hara questioned whether Habitat <br /> for Humanity would utilize Mashpee contractors to complete the work. It was noted that it was likely that <br /> contractors offering the most competitive prices would be utilized alongside volunteers. <br /> Mr. Johnson recommended that the Affordable HousingCommittee be included in the process prior to a <br /> I <br /> town vote. Selectman Richardson referenced documents provided to Committee members including <br /> Town of Mashpee Unassigned Tax Taking Lands, Public Lands Tax Taking Properties and Potential <br /> Affordable Housing Parcels. The Public Lands Tax Taking Properties document is a map of land owned <br /> the town and highlighted for open space, affordable housin mixed use or wastewater use. The aerial <br /> y g � <br /> photo represents potential affordable housing parcels, specifically lob Orchard Road, 230 Falmouth Road <br /> and 7 Baltic Avenue. The Town of Mahpee [unassigned Tax Taking Lands is a list of properties with <br /> their location, description and tax value. <br /> 2 <br />
