Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> August 3,2010 at 7 pr <br /> Selectmen's Meeting Room, Mashpee Town Mall <br /> Present: Chairman Alan Trebat, Berkeley Johnson, Bud Abbott, Amy Snider <br /> Also Present: Selectman Liaison Michael Richardson <br /> Absent; Kalliope Egloff <br /> Cali to Order <br /> Chairm n A]an 'Trebat took the roll and the meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes-July 6,2010 <br /> A motion was.made by Mr. Johnson to accept the minutes of the July e meeting. Mr. Abbott <br /> seconded the motion. AM voted unanimously. <br /> I <br /> Leila Botsford, Executive erector of Mashpee Housing Authority <br /> n* for 12 ear intr i d herself n <br /> M . Botsford, who has been with the Mashpee Housing utho ty o s, oduce <br /> distributed copies of the Mashpee Housing Authority brochure to members of the Committee. Ms. <br /> Botsford reported that the Dousing Authority services a caseload of 150 families,, elderly and disabled <br /> by providing affordable housing in Mashpee. Housing managed by the Authority in Mashpee Y <br /> includes: <br /> Horneyer village-Located on Jobs Fishing Road, Homeyer village offers 24 units and is the location <br /> of the Mashpee Housing Authority office. The housing is state subsidized for elderly or disabled <br /> residents and three of the units have been set aside for disabled individuals under the age of 60. <br /> Breezy Acres-Located adjacent to the high school, Breezy Acres is a family site subsidized by the <br /> state consisting of three duplexes and housing six families. The facility was constructed in the 1990s. <br /> Nis. Botsford rep rted,that the state subsidized housing in Mashpee has a waiting list of approximately <br /> 3-5 }rears with a preference for Mashpee residents. <br /> Ashers Fath Apartments-Located on Carlton Drive, A.shers Path is a recently constructed site and is <br /> low income housing tax credit program that is considered private. The budget is not subsidized by the <br /> government so rent is set at 0%below the median income for fifty of the units and the retraining six <br /> units are for people at 0%or below the median income. IV s. Botsford reported that there is a waiting <br /> list of 18 people for the 3 0%units and expects individuals to wait approximately one year for a unit to <br /> become available. <br /> Mental Subsidy Program/Massachusetts Rental voucher Program Village has <br /> 38 units available to house families, elderly and disabled who meet the requirements of the MR'S'. In <br /> addition, the Authority has 15 mobile 1 AVPs where individuals can lige anywhere and have their <br /> housing subsidized. <br /> Sections 8 Housing-A few vouchers are administered by the Authority. <br />' Alternative Housing voucher Program-The Authority also administers the Alternative Housing <br /> Voucher Program for two non-elderly disabled residents in Mashpee. <br />
