Mike Richardson stated <br /> it would be important to talk about the next action steps. Joan Peters- Gilmartin spoke about a lot of <br /> "talking" going on at meetings and it is time to "do" something. Gail Wilson spoke about the Barnstable <br /> County Regional Substance Abuse Council and they are in the process of developing a strategic plan <br /> based on the public health model. Barnstable County Human Services with Cheryl Bartlett is leading <br /> approximately 15 focus groups from various disciplines.The MOAPC first initiative is Scope of Pain which <br /> looks at the habits of prescribing doctors. Joan Peters-Gilmartin stated this is very big problem but this <br /> training is not mandatory for doctors. <br /> Mike Richardson stated we have to define the problem; look at demographics; programs; prevention; <br /> Gaps in services and treatment issues. Deb from DAs office stated there is a forum at Mashpee HS she is <br /> presenting on cyber bullying on Tuesday, May 5 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. The Sheriff's office will be <br /> bringing in drug sniffing dogs. <br />
