Office <br /> Gail Wilson Patty Mitrokostas Beth Albert <br /> Hope Schwom Tom Rullo Jessica McHugh <br /> Chris Santos Rodney Collins <br /> Lynne Waterman <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chair Mike Richardson called the meeting to order at 6:00pm <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT-None <br /> REVIEW OF MINUTES: Review of minutes will take place at the next meeting. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Guest Presenters Beth Albert, Director of Barnstable County Human Services and Jessica McHugh, <br /> MOAPC coordinator, Barnstable County of Human Services. Beth spoke about the history of the current <br /> intiatives taking place in the county. The Barnstable Regional Substance Abuse Council was convened <br /> after members of the County Health and Human Services Advisory Council identified a need for regional <br /> coordination around the issue of substance abuse. The RSAC began meeting in January 2014 and used a <br /> public health approach based on a model of prevention, treatment, harm reduction and public safety. <br /> The main summary of findings was published and approved in February, 2015 with the conclusion that <br /> Alcohol addiction is endemic,the number of people addicted to alcohol on Cape Cod outnumbers all <br /> other substances and the annual direct cost of substance abuse in Barnstable County is$110,085.000. <br /> In August, 2015 the Addressing Substance Use on Cape Cod: Action Plan was approved by the RSAC. <br /> Barnstable County of Human Services on Behalf of the Regional Substance Abuse Council was awarded a <br /> five year, $550,000 grant to address opioid abuse. MOAPC (Massachusetts Opioid Abuse Prevention <br /> Collaborative) is one of 18 MOAPC clusters in MA. MOAPC comes to MA.via federal substance abuse <br /> block grants to the state. Mashpee is a collaborative partner with this grant. The MOAPC partners are <br /> Bourne, Barnstable,Yarmouth, Mashpee, Falmouth, Sandwich and Harwich. Jessica McHugh is the <br />
