Lynne Waterman seconded the motion. Glen Harrington and <br /> Scott Carline abstained. Kathy Mahoney made a motion to approve minutes from the meeting on <br /> October 20, 2015 with corrections. Mike Richardson seconded the motion. Scott Carline abstained and <br /> Glen Harrington abstained with comment. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Discussion about the next meeting on December 15, 2015, it will be facilitated by Carl Alves with <br /> MassTAPP and Jessica McHugh MOAPC coordinator with Barnstable County will be attending. Gail <br /> Wilson spoke about the role of MassTAPP and passed out a description. Mike R.was asked by Carl <br /> Alves to email the background about Mashpee Cares how it got started and the accomplishments. <br /> Discussion about the Mission of Mashpee Cares, started as an overall Community Wellness Plan. Mike <br /> read the list of accomplishments. Discussion about developing an Action Plan,focusing on <br /> Prevention/Intervention. Review of four subtopics outlined in the Barnstable County Regional Substance <br /> Abuse Plan. Each member had thought about what 3 initiatives they felt strongly about. Suggestion <br /> that focus on Prevention/Intervention should be proactive with knowledge and education to parents. <br /> Parents may not know how to talk to kids about drugs. Also, a search is being done for books that may <br /> help a child who has a parent struggling with addiction and there haven't been any found in the CLAMS <br /> system. Discussion about requesting books for elementary schools, the whole group was in support of <br />
