t <br /> Asti-o Item: Zella will prepare a letter to the Selectman and ZBA recommending that <br /> the proposal be given conditional conceptual approval, <br /> Fetter from Dousing Authority <br /> ■ ella received a letter from the Mashpee Housmg Authority inquiring about Deb Battles <br /> membership on the Affordable Housing Committee and her status as the liaison to the <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority, <br /> ■ ella asked that the AHC members review the correspondence and make a formal <br /> recommendation regarding liaisons. <br /> ■ John Cahalane informed the AHC that there is currently no formal written policy regarding <br /> appointments of liaisons. He suggested that it is a good idea to have a community liaison for <br /> an exchange of information. <br /> Housing Conference at Brandeis University <br /> ■ Alice Lopez attended this meeting but reported that she did not find the conference very <br /> informative. They discussed 40regulations as well as offering a workshop on working <br /> p <br /> with other agencies to gather information, <br /> DHCD Approval <br /> ■ ella distributed the official approval letter from the Department of Housing and <br /> Community Development to the AHC members for preview. <br /> ■ Since a formal approval has now been granted, the AHC can apply for certification of <br /> compliance,, <br /> ells expressed concern that the AHC was not ready to prepared a request for certification,, <br /> Approval of the plan indicates that anybody requesting 40B status will need to cone to the <br /> AHC prior to approaching any other committee. <br /> tioii n: Who has the lead on obtaining certification of compliance? John Cahalane <br /> will inquire at nextSelectman's meeting and ask for input. <br /> Action Rein: Zella will also ask for input from.Mr. Phillip Marti ho, from the Office of <br /> Policy Department, and update members at next meeting, <br /> Mashpee Affordable Horsing Trust <br /> John None reports that he and Zella met with Town Counsel on July 27. <br /> At the meeting they discussed the AHC concerns. Town Counsel has promised that a formal <br /> written response for the advantages and disadvantages of the trust will be received in August, <br /> Horsing Assistance Corporation <br /> ■ ella met with members from.the Housing Assistance Corporation to discuss the multi-town <br /> grant that was discussed at last month's meeting. <br /> ■ The preliminary grant has been prepared; however, Mashpee is not the leader town on the <br /> proposal.. The Town of Sandwich is the leader town. When the grant is in the final stage, <br /> Mashpee will be Mnvited back for input. <br /> The leader town is defined as the town submitting the initial draft of the proposal. The grant <br /> request is for$225K, The title of the grant is "Cape Business and Housing initiative <br /> Proposal.' <br /> 2 <br />
