Board of Assessors Meeting Page 4 <br /> Abatement Ap2lication - Ma2 43 , Parcel 4 - 42 . 7 Acres (continued) <br /> [upon question from Robert De ory, David Bailey stated that <br /> Assessing currently lists the nares , Heirs of Mercy Lowe and <br /> Grafton Associates , on its records for assessment and tax <br /> purposes; Mr. Bailey recently updated this information and <br /> changed the name, Mrs . M. Lowe, through data entry on the <br /> computer. He explained that if an abatement is granted and <br /> check has to be cut, the check will be made payable to "Heirs of <br /> Mercy Lowe and Grafton Asociates" ; the check cannot be cashed <br /> until ownership of the property is established. He further <br /> explained that Assessing may have to remove "Grafton Associates" <br /> from its record and last only "Heirs of Mercy Lowe" as Owner, and <br /> then , list Grafton Associates as one of the heirs and send the <br /> tax bills to Mr, Baxter - or have hire submit evidence that the <br /> people from whom he is obtaining deeds are heirs of Mercy Lowe. <br /> David Bailey stated that the most important issue is to <br /> check the property tax payment status tomorrow. Be will report <br /> his findings to The Board. <br /> esi nation of Gregg Fraser, Data Collector <br /> Vice Chairman Porter informed that The Board has received <br /> a signed resignation letter from Gregg F. Fraser dated March 7 , <br /> 1994 , wherein he thanks The Board for all of Its support, wishes <br /> The Board "smooth sailing" in the years ahead, and expresses his <br /> deep regret; he has been offered a better position with the Town <br /> of Falmouth. <br /> Mr, Porter stated that The Board is accepting Mr. Fra sec ' s <br /> resignation with deep regret . . . he has performed his duties <br /> very well and has efficiently organized his division of the <br /> Assessing Department . . . he has been "a mountain ! ! " . <br /> David Bailey informed. that Mr. Fraser ' s last day is Friday, <br /> March 18. <br /> Torn Meeting Warrant Articles - Assessing De artment <br /> David Bailey informed that he met with The Board of <br /> Selectmen last evening relevant to the four warrant articles . <br /> The first is the upgrade from Grade 6 to Grade 8 for the Data <br /> Collector; this has neither been approved, nor disapproved; there <br /> are five or six upgrades on the tentative warrant that The <br /> Selectmen will again review. He pointed out that in all of his <br /> prior experience, he has never known the disapproval of any <br />
