Board = Assessor Page <br /> Fade6 <br /> Hearing on Appeal for Real Property Tax Abatement <br /> Map 128 , Block 2 , Unit 670 owner Edward Shore . continued <br /> Mr, Shore expressed opinion it is unfair that other <br /> properties in the area , especially the subject property, could <br /> be assessed higher to reflect one $340 , 000 sale. He pointed out <br /> that just because a buyer was willing to pay that price does not <br /> mean the property{ is worth that amount ! David Bailey replied <br /> there is no way to judge that valve except to look at what has <br /> taken place in that particular area. He pointed out that Nor. <br /> Shore ' s appraiser took one $240 , 000 sale, then took sales off the <br /> water and made a fairly arbitrary adjustment - he may not have <br /> had much choice. Mr. Bailey stated that the point he is making <br /> is: <br /> It is very difficult to appraise when there are ten <br /> properties that are absolutely unique on the face of the <br /> earth - there is absolutely nothing to compare these with - <br /> anyplace - except to compare there with these ten <br /> properties ! <br /> Mr. Bailey further explained that the 1992 lower assessments in <br /> that area did not coincide with the extremely high "aski <br />
