Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> Meetinq for Users of Patriot Properties ' Software continued <br /> 4 <br /> David Bailey expressed opinion that similar meetings should <br /> be held every six months - presently, Patriot Properties is <br /> planning annual users ' meetings . . <br /> Ion Payment of Taxes <br /> Chairman Greig questioned the status of this matter, David <br /> Bailey informed that he spoke with Ms , Shaw, who recommended that <br /> Board Members choose the largest delinquent taxpayers from the <br /> list. Mr. Greig stated that he spoke with Mr. whrienur about <br /> Cape Cod Coffee, delinquent in payment of 1989 taxes. Both Mr. <br /> Greig and Mr . Whritenour want to find out all of the delinquent <br /> taxpayers of large monetary value in the tax years of 1990 , 1991, <br /> 1992 , and 1993 . Chairman Greig recommended that major repeaters <br />� should be targeted by <br /> The Board. Lengthy discussion followed. <br /> David Bailey informed that he did review the list; then, he <br /> looked through the phone book for businesses that have been <br /> delinquent and that are still in existence. His findings show <br /> t that some have roved their businesses to Hyannis - one to <br /> r <br /> Falmouth. Some tax bills were issued in error, such as <br /> condominium units that were never occupied but received personal <br /> property tax bills . More discussion followed. <br /> David Bailey informed that Ms. Shaw will have the Deputy re- <br /> issue a warrant on the delinquent taxes chosen by Board Members. <br /> The remaining and past bulk will be the $25 -and $30 tax bills . <br /> Upon question from Robert DeLory relative to ' Mrr. Daniel <br /> Hostetter, Mr. Bailey informed that he owes Mashpee $250 ,000 in <br /> back taxes ; most of this a result of a condominium proposal on <br /> property valued atseveral million dollars when the real estate <br /> market reached its peak - but now valued at about $300 ,000 ; the <br /> permits to build have expired. These tax bills are in tax title <br /> the Town is going to foreclose. All agreed that foreclosure <br /> would be beneficial to Mashpee because the property is desirable. <br /> More discussion followed. <br /> Nice Chairman Porter recommended that The Board review the <br /> list as soon as possible, especially because Ms. Shaw is so <br /> agreeable. Chairman Greig suggested that copies of delinquent <br /> property takes that remain on the list be submitted to all <br /> departments that iue permits . favid Bailey informed that <br /> Conservation is the only department that regulates checks on <br /> permits issued. Mr, Greig suggested that the Board of Selectmen <br /> review the list of remaining unpaid taxes . <br />
