i
NOTE: The Mashpee Board. of Assessors did not hold a Regular
Board Meeting on Tuesday , October 4 , 1994 .
MA H EE BOARD OF ASESSSORS MINUTES OF OCTOBER 1.1 , 1994 '
PRESENT: KENNETH A. PORTER, CHAIRMAN
ROBERT R. DeLOR , VICE CHAIRMAN
LESLIE M. GREIGr CLERK
I DAVID A. BAILEY, DIRECTOR OF ASSESSING
i
The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Porter
at 6 : 20 p.m.
MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS
Minutes of The Meetinq of September 6 , 1994
Chairman Porter referred to Rage 2 , ATB settlements of Real
Property Abatement Appeals ; he inquired if any progress has been
made on M . Coughlin ' land-locked property on Great Hay Road.
David Bailey informed that the assessment went down dramatically
from $124 , 600 to $50, 000 ,- this information will appear on The
List of Proposed Settlements and Dismissals that is attached to
The Minutes of The Meeting of September 27 , 1994 .0
Chairman Porter referred to Page 3r Computers -
Informational Seminars ; he stated that he had attended one of
the seminars and inquired if anyone had attended the other two
seminars and if any decision had been made. David Bailey
informed that for the interim, Mashpee Assessing will continue
with Its present appraisal system. He explained as follows :
There was one company , the Computer Center out of Falmouth,
I Maine, that was the best of the group; the proposal was
about $400 , 000 and encompassed the "Wish List" of the
Computer Committee . All of Its software looked good and all
I
that we are looking for; a good systgem that the Schools can
use - the system for Assessing is MMC t s system (a fine
system) . However, the reports on the company ' s support lase
from Its Client lase were not good; the work is slow.
People felt It had expanded Its Client Base more than s
support could handle. This was recognized . and this summer,
the company split off the service for New Accounts from the
service to ExistingAccounts ; it was felt that the people
servicing the Existing Accounts would help with the
installations.
