+ Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> Update on Preparation for the New Tax Rate <br /> ■ wr� <br /> David Bailey informed The Board that the Growth Report has <br /> been submitted to The DOR and is being reviewed. The <br /> Classification Hearing is scheduled for nest Tuesday a a .m. <br /> All of the figures have been Out into the Recap; the new Tax late <br /> will be $13 . 95 t $13 . 99 , representing about a small 2 . 5% <br /> increase , which he feels is very good. He will take the Recap t <br /> The DOR on Tuesday afternon after the classification Hearing. <br /> Possible Refund to Mash ee for Back Taxes on state Owned Land <br /> David Bailey informed The Board that there is a bill in <br /> front of the Legislature to get Mashee back taxes for well over <br /> 1. Million on State Owned Laird , and to increase the yearly <br /> payment to Mashpee by well ov r $200K on state Owned Land . He <br /> explained Lhat The State really does owe this amount,, of which <br /> Mashpee was gypped over a 7 year period. Mr. Bailey expressed <br /> opinion that the Town probably will not get the $1. Million , but <br /> this fact can be used to increase the Town ' s leverage to start <br /> receiving the $200K - $250K yearly payments on the Cherry Sheet. <br /> Both dice Chairman DeLor•y and Leslie Greig informed that <br /> there is a bill in font of the Legislature for a 5 <br /> reimbursement of funds that Mashpee will spend on +the new high <br /> school. . All expressed agreement this news sounds very promising . <br /> Leslie Greig stated for The Record that David Bailey and <br /> This Board of Assessors are the ones who initiated procuring all <br /> the invaluable information concerning the economic and financial <br /> condition of Ma.shpee in relation to the proposed building costs <br /> f a new high school '. thea had their findings publicized. <br /> Short discussion followed. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: <br /> There being no further business before The Board for <br /> discussion, Leslie Greig made motion The Board adjourn the <br /> meeting; Robert -DeLory rade Second the motion - motion passed- <br /> Unanimous <br /> assed-Unanimous decision .
