BAILEY, DIRECTOR OF ASSESSING <br /> The Executive Session was called to order by Chairman Porter <br /> t 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> BEARING ON APPEAL TO ABATE REAL PROPERTY TAXES UNDER CLAUSE 1 <br /> MAP 65r PARCEL 119A - KAREN COSTA, OWNER <br /> All Board Members reviewed Ms . Karen Costa ' s Clause 1. <br /> Application for FY 1995 . <br /> Chairman Porten informed Ms . Costa that he reviewed her <br /> application of last year - at that tune, Ms . Costa had stated that <br /> was her last year in the Nursing Program at Cape Cod Community <br /> College. The Board was surprised when Ms . Costa applied again <br /> this year. <br /> Ms . Costa informed that she has brought a Letter f roan the <br /> college stating a graduation date of May, 1995 . She explained <br /> that the Nursing Program is two years, which started in <br /> September, 1993 . <br /> Leslie Greig questioned how long a period the tax exemption <br /> covers . David Bailey stated that Ms . Costa ' s new application for <br /> FY 1995 covers the tax period through FY 1395, ending with the <br /> May tax payment. Both Chairman Porter and Mr. Greig acknowledged <br /> that they now understand Nis. Costa ' s FY 1994 exemption did not <br /> cover FY 1995 and that she had to re-apply. <br /> Leslie Greig inquired if Ms . Costa has paid any FY 1995 <br /> taxes . She stated she has not she just recently received <br /> the bill . . Mr. Greig pointed out that this is the third balling <br /> period, which dives the actual tax rate and actual taxes due. <br /> David Bailey expressed agreement. <br /> Leslie Greig inquired if Ms . Costa plans to get a job after <br /> her May graduation . She replied "hopefully" .and explained that <br /> she would like to take the new one-credit course, requiring -the <br /> student to go out into the field with a Central Cape VNA Nurse. <br /> Ms . Costa had previously checked job possibilities with the <br /> Falmouth VNA and was informed that one year of experience is <br /> required. She expressed opinion that this new extra-credit <br /> course will provide an additional outlet in the job search. <br /> Short discussion followed. <br /> ti <br />
