Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> Real Property - Board _Discussion of Map 112 , Parcel. 12 , <br /> Popponesset Island ;_ Owner, Robert and Auta Hendler <br /> Chairman Porter initiated lengthy discussion. All <br /> Board Members referenced the field notes . Mr . Porter also <br /> referenced the computer data. He informed that the subject <br />= ` property had leen sold to The Henlers by Mr * Lawson , the <br /> precious owner, in 1988 for 600K plus - the new owner demolished <br /> the existing dwelling; the new dwelling is going to be twice the <br /> size of the old dwelling . <br /> Chairman Porter informed that there is no current <br /> assessment on the new dwelling; as of January 1 , 1995 , the old <br /> dwelling was in process of being demolished. There should be a <br /> fair- assessment of the pro ety by next January. <br /> Chairman Porter informed that the size of the new <br /> dwelling will be about 6 , 000 square feet; he made comment that <br /> the completed construction will represent a very large dwelling. <br /> All Board Members expressed agreement. <br /> Vice Chairman DeLory made comment that there should be <br /> a height restriction in place. Mr. Porter informed that the <br /> restriction is 32 feet; upon examination of the data relative to <br /> the building construction plans , the dwelling appears to conform <br /> to the height restriction . <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Assessing Department Burl ,et <br /> Vice Chairman DeLory made comment there was a meeting <br /> with the Finance Committee on January 2 , 1995 . He had wanted to <br /> ask David Bailey the results, but he is absent this evening . <br /> Leslie Greig informed that the only question on the <br /> budget during the Meeting was relative to the educational. points . <br /> He expressed opinion that the funds for schooling cannot be <br /> eliminated. He explained that the Board of Assessors is the only <br /> 'own Board that requires Board Members to obtain education <br /> relating to the performance of duties of an assessor. <br /> Leslie Greig also informed, with good humor , that the <br /> Board of Selectmen does not require any qualifications for Its <br /> Meiners , except that they get elected by the voters of Mashpee. <br /> Short discussion followed . <br /> l_ <br />
