i <br /> Board of Assessors Meeting Bag-e 3 <br /> Hearing on Appecal for Blind Exemption - 37 <br /> Maw 106 , Parcel 8 owner William Irwin continued <br /> Chairman DeLory asked Mr. Irwin what departments he <br /> addresses in the State House. Mr. Irwin informed that the <br /> offices of the State Senators who deal with and lure in the Cape <br /> Cod area or the Needham, Somerville area are his contacts . <br /> David Bailey expressed opinion that annual application <br /> filing requirements represent a reasonable policy, as there is no <br /> way that Possessing can keep track of the 350 400 people who <br /> receive various tax exemptions in Mashpee their oath must <br /> be depended upon ! ! He informed Mr. Irwin that he will try to <br /> f and a way to have the certi.f icate of blindness documented so <br /> that an annual certificate can be eliminated, saving the <br /> applicants much time and hassle if the D.O.R. will approve. <br /> Mr. Irwin made comment that this would sage the Town a lot of <br /> time and money. More discussion followed. <br /> Vice Chairman Greig recommended that Mr. Irwin and The Board <br /> accept lir. Bailey ' s statement that he will look further into this <br /> matter. . <br /> Chairman DeLory asked if Mr. Irwin even appeared personally <br /> at the Division of the Blind. Mr. Irwin responded that he had <br /> done to the Boylston Street, Boston location only once because he <br /> had interest in some classes being offered there. <br /> Mr. Irwin pointed out that when a person i s found to be <br /> blind through a medical examination, the doctor is mandated by <br /> lair to report the condition to the Division of The Blind. Short <br /> discussion followed. <br /> The hearing' ended at : 30 .m- Mr. Irwin thanked Board <br /> members and David Bailey for their time and consideration. <br /> OLD/NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Update on Progress of Upcomin5 Revaluation <br /> David Bailey informed The Board that Mr. Steve Ferreria of <br /> MMC was in the Assessing Department last Friday. Mr. Bailey <br /> spoke with hlim today. Steve has picked up the Income and Expense <br /> data and has given it to Mr. Bob Trembley, who was on vacation <br /> last week and has not yet had a chance t review the information. <br /> Bob Trembley will be coning into the Assessing, Department perhaps <br /> by the end of next week as well as Steve 'ereri.a . <br />
