Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> Commercial Revaluation continued <br /> Botello ' s vice Chairman Greig expressed opinion <br /> this business should be carefully looted at. The space it used <br /> to occupy is being used for tools, machinery, contract sales. <br /> Mr. Bailey stated that he noes have most of the new figures , but <br /> he will re-check to make sure. <br /> David Bailey expressed opinion that in the near future, <br /> this year or next year , Mashpee should realize more tax dollars <br /> from the Pilgrim' s Pride Nursing Home and the subsidized housing <br /> complex -- [united Church villa e. Discussion follower. <br /> Stop Shop David Bailey informed that Mashpee <br /> should realize many tax dollars this year. His hope is that the <br /> complex becomes filled. Discussion followed. <br /> Residential Revaluation <br /> David Bailey informed that Mr. Stege Fererria will be coring <br /> into the Assessing Department on Tuesday. Upon question by vice <br /> Chairman Greig, Mr. Bailey stated that they feel Dean ' s Pond area <br /> will be taking a very large increase. Lengthy discussion <br /> followed. lir. Bailey explained that this area has proven more <br /> attractive to buyers . . . houses are selling for about $35,000 <br /> more than in other comparable areas . Kenneth Porter expressed <br /> opinion that besides the "walk to the beach' , the area is more <br /> quiet. Mr. Bailey informed that the $300, 000 sale on the water <br /> was assessed at $200 , 000 or Less the house was the worst in <br /> the area, and no view. <br /> David Bailey explained that Mr. Fererria feels the sales <br /> figures for this area and perhaps some other areas that will be <br /> affected should be put together then call a public meeting. <br /> Information should be finalized about the end of this month. <br /> Discussion followed regarding higher, solid sales in other <br /> residential areas , such as Pun horn Point, Pirate ' s Cove, Bayview <br /> Drive, Seconset -- off the water. Kenneth Porter introduced more <br /> discussion regarding tearing down houses because of the land <br /> value. All agreed that the value of land is the most important <br /> factor. <br /> Kenneth Porten questioned property values on Popponess t <br /> Island. David. Bailey informed that the poor waterfront will <br /> decline; the remaining properties will probably hold thein <br /> present values , Lengthy discussion followed. <br />
