Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> Clause 1. - General Discussion continued <br /> Vice Chairman Greig expressed opinion that if a strict age <br /> requirement existed . The Board would have denied a particular <br /> appeal . 'More discussion followed. Mr, Greig suggested that The <br /> Board request David Bailey to research this ratter thoroughly. <br /> Both Chairman DeLory and Mr. Greig recall that Mr. Bai.ley spoke <br /> about some new information circulated within the 'past two gears <br /> relevant to this ratter. Kenneth Porter stated' that he read <br /> through his Assessors ' manual and found nothing. .Chairman DeLory <br /> initiated more discussion pertaining to many problems that <br /> existed in past years because age is not defined in the law. <br /> Vice Chairman Greig- expressed opinion that the D.O.R. must <br /> be aware of this problem . . . perhaps this is the reason the <br /> matter is left up to the discretion of the local Boards o <br /> Assessors , Board Members expressed agreement. More discussion <br /> followed. Kenneth Porter questioned if there is a time limit <br /> I once an appeal under Clause 18 is filed with Assessing . Both <br /> Chairman DeLory and vice Chairman Greig stated there is no time <br /> limit. <br /> Vice Chairman Greig again suggested that The Board request <br /> David Bailey and/or Ms . Susan Collum to research this matter <br /> thoroughly to find if any D.O.R. directive exists on this <br /> subject . Board Members expressed agreement, <br /> Bile Systems for Assessing a art ent <br /> Vice Chairman Greig informed that he recently received a <br /> phone call from an acquaintance who is in charge of material <br /> management at the Cape Cod B spital. . He has some catalogs on <br /> file systems that Assessing has been looking for. Mr. Greig <br /> plans on visiting hien tomorrow; he will Xerox the information, <br /> then contact one ,the company representatives . <br /> Mr . Greig also informed that he needs to go downstairs into <br /> the storage room at Town Hall with Ray to measure the steel <br /> joists . Kenneth Porter initiated lengthy discussion regarding <br /> the particulars of the joists . He stated that many times , people <br /> overlook what the supports are this amazes hI t ! <br /> Progress of Upcoming Revaluation <br /> Chairman DeLory asked if Board Members had received any new <br /> information. Leslie Greig stated that nothing has come through. <br />
