Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> The Overlay Reserve continued <br /> that she would like The Town to have the choice of using the <br /> money to Its best advantage; she noes not feel. Mashpee will be <br /> getting much funding from the State in the rear future. Lengthy <br /> discussion followed on this particular issue. <br /> Board of Assessors Meeting schedule <br /> Chairman Greig informed Marcia King that The Board has <br /> scheduled Its Regular Meetings twice monthly on the second and <br /> fourth Tuesdays at 6 : 00 p. . <br /> Chairman Greig announced that the next scheduled <br /> Regular Meeting is Tuesday , May 28 , at 6 : 00 p.m. All expressed <br /> agreement. <br /> Chairman Greig also informed Marcia King that there is <br /> a lot of paperwork requiring signatures of Board Members ; both he <br /> and Kenneth Porter refuse to use a rubber stamp signature except <br /> for betterments . Assessing will arrange to leave the pape work <br /> for her so that she may schedule her own best times to review it. <br /> David Bailey expressed feeling that after a month, Marcla King <br /> will know what -matters are most important to look through and <br /> sign, or present for discussion if she has any questions . Some <br /> of these are timely; he will make sure that they are completed by <br /> their due dates . <br /> Property values <br /> Chairman Greig stated that the Assessing office was <br /> quite exciting during his first two or three years as a Member o <br /> the Board of Assessors but has become partially boring during <br /> these last few years because of the dramatic decrease in <br /> abatement applications . <br /> David Bailey expressed opinion that there will be <br /> increased activity next year because of the property value <br /> changes taking place right now. He mentioned a $725 , 000 sale at <br /> the end of Jeep Place . . . waterfront property with a three <br /> bedroom ranch built in the late 1950s - early 1960s the <br /> assessment was tinder $400 ,, 000 , vice Chairman P.orter made comment <br /> that the Chevrolet People could have bought the property years <br /> ago for $34 , 000 . Mr. Bailey stated that the last waterfront sale <br /> in that area was nine months ago $360 , 000 . -Lengthy <br /> discussion followed. Mr. Bailey pointed out that oceanfront <br /> property values did drop a little last year . * . a momentary dip <br /> in the market 40 recent sales have shot through the roof .' .' <br />
