Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> Assessing De2artment ' S' ComjRuter Problems (continued) <br /> David Bailey stated that he will have the system looked <br /> at tomorrow; he will try to restore that tape onto another <br /> computer and run the whole system on another computer until <br /> Assessing' s computer system is thoroughly checked. <br /> Notification of UpcomingATB Cases . <br /> Chairman CreIg informed that Assessing has received <br /> correspondence concerning ATB Cases scheduled to be heard this <br /> summer on Cape Cod; the starting date is Wednesday, August 21; <br /> the place is Falmouth, for the first time, at the new Court <br /> House, David Bailey informed that he asked Ms . Susan Collum if <br /> she would be willing to do one of the less complicated cases ; Ms. <br /> Collura was receptive. Lengthy discussion followed . Mr. Bailey <br /> explained that he will have to review the case list . it <br /> appears that some of the listings are incorrect. <br /> Abating Tax Bills - the Dollar Amount <br /> Marcia King questioned the rule that tax bills cannot <br /> be abated to .less than $5 . David Bailey explained that if a bill <br /> gets adjusted to any dollar amount, the bill gets adjusted to $5. <br /> If a bill is non existent, the bill gets - abated to $0. <br /> Discussion and examples followed. <br /> Discussion on AnotherFull-Time Employee for Assessing <br /> Chairman -Greig asked David Bailey to give a short <br /> briefing on this matter. Mr. Bailey expressed feeling that <br /> another fall-tire employee should be hired for the Assessing <br /> Department& however, he did have lengthy discussion with Ms. <br /> Susan Collum about various projects - what is coming up and what <br /> did not take place this year. He informed The Board as follows : <br /> This year was a Rural Year where the clerks dict not have to <br /> do any data entry because David Bailey did it all but <br /> this was just "luck" . The Building. Permits were all entered <br /> by Stephen Ewing, the Li to . . . this was not a normal <br /> yearly function but was decided upon for his first year so <br /> that his written data would be legible, his drawings would <br /> coincide, and the like; this saved about one month of <br /> clerical work. In addition, Assessing has the prospect of a <br /> new Computer System and a new Mapping System, However, as <br /> soon a - the Department moves to Its new location, all of the <br /> old plans and raps that were stoned in the basement will <br /> have to be recatal.ogged . . . and -there are numerous other <br /> small projects . Mr. Bailey informed that Ms. Collum does <br /> not have a problem with these upcoming clerical projects . <br />
