The Selectmen vote on <br /> choices offered such as split the Tac Rate to tax <br /> Commercial. Properties at a - higher rate, or g�.v a residential <br /> exemption to properties of owner-Occupied Homes <br /> horrendous exemption to enforce and never instituted in Mashpee <br /> because it is paid for by other residential Property owners , and <br /> also because there are no areal guidelines to establish proof of <br /> residency in Massachusetts , so "the cheaters" get away with it. <br /> Lengthy discussion followed. <br /> David Bailey informed that he does not have to wait for <br /> the Growth to be approved to do the Water District ' s <br /> Classification Nearing. If the dater District accepts his offer, <br /> he will be doing that hearing at the upcoming meeting next <br /> Tuesday. <br /> Mr. Bailey stated that he has roughed out the Tac late <br /> it appears it may be $14 .27 , a 1 increase the rate will <br /> be somewhere between $14 . 25 and $14 . 35. He expressed opinion the <br /> Water District rates will be going down by a few cents. <br /> Chairman Greig. referred to a copy of David Bailey ' s <br /> printout.o he questioned how much of the $23 Million i <br /> Residential. . Mr. Bailey informed that about $20 Million or <br /> slightly more represents Residential ; the Commercial and <br /> Industrial is low, especially after the Utility Properties are <br /> taken into consideration. Lengthy discussion followed concerning <br /> the difficulty in determining primary residency in Mashpee . <br /> David Bailey asked Board Members if they had any <br /> questions on his printout. Upon question by Chairman Greig about <br /> the Recap, Mr. Bailey pointed out there should be no problem with <br /> the ReCap unless there is a problem with the Growth which <br /> he does not anticipate, He informed that he spoke with the <br /> D.0,R,. today; a decision on the Growth will be determined in <br /> about one week. The Reap is essentially finished. Ms . Shaw has <br /> not given Mr. Bailey the exact Debt Exclusion. However, the Tax <br /> Rate will not be effected by the Growth or the Debt Exclusion, as <br /> e are quite far below the Levy . <br /> Mr. Bailey stated that 'he will let all Board Members <br /> know the time and dates of the classification Hearings . He <br /> informed that they are not required to attend. The Selectmen <br /> need only a quorum of Its Board Members , and the special meeting <br /> has to be publicized. <br />
