r dFP2/ NOTE: The mashpee Board of Assessors did not hold Board Meeting on Tuesday , November 19 , 1996 . MASHPEE BOARD OF ASSESSORS MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 26, 1996 PRESENT: LESLIE M. GRE I , CHAIRMAN KENNETH A. PORTERr VICE CHAIRMAN DAVID A. BAILEY, DIRECTOR OF ASSESSING ABSENT: MARCIA R. KING, CLERK The regular meeting was held in the Assessing Department ' s temporary office, a trailer located at the rear of Mashpee Town Hall , Mashpee, Massachusetts. This site is being used while Town Hall is being renovated and Assessing ' s new office location is being prepared. The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Greig at : 10 p.m. informed that Marcia sting called hire at 4 : 15 p.m. this afternoon to notify that she will not be present at this evening ' s meeting because she is working late. MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS : minutes of The Meeting of October 22, 1996 Vice Chairman Rorer rade motion The Board accept The Minutes of The Meeting of October 22 , 1996 , as printed; Leslie Greig made second the motion; motion passed- majority decision. The Minutes were accepted by The Board. NEW BUSINESS: New Tax Rate David Bailey informed that it appears the new Tax Rate will be $14 . 25 ; the new District Rate will. be $ . 67 . The new Tax Rate amounts to only about increase; a news editorial I planned. Board Members expressed approval . Discussion followed concerning the small Tax Rate increases over the last five years. Chairman Greig questioned David Bailey about his previous statement that expenditures have gone up about 2 between 1996 and 1997. Mr. Bailey Verified and explained that the new Tax Rate increase remained small because of a combination of things : the $1 . 5 Million that we put into tax relief ; the increased number of properties paying taxes , and the increase in Value of some of the properties , Lengthy discussion followed.
