Board of Assessors Meeting � Page <br /> Overlay Trans.'er (continued) <br /> letter is dated September 23, 1997 ; copy of letter is attached to <br /> these "minutes" . <br /> Marcia ding made motion the Board accept the letter as <br /> written; dice Chairman Porter made second the motion# motion <br /> passed; unanimous decision. All Board Members signed the letter. <br /> The transfer of $525 , 000 in overlay funds from overlay reserve to <br /> overlay surplus was approved by the Board. <br /> Marcia King initiated short discussion concerning the <br /> effect on the Tax Rate. <br /> Advertising for New Data Collector <br /> David Bailey informed that advertising is in process <br /> for the vacant position. Monday, September 29 , is the deadline. <br /> Capon question from Nice Chairman Porter, Mr. Bailey informed that <br /> about twelve applications have been submitted; there has been <br /> quite a bit of interest in the position. Short discussion <br /> followed. Mr. Bailey explained that he briefly reviewed the <br /> applications and found none to be outstanding. <br /> Assessing Department Break-In Re ort of Minor Theft <br /> Upon question from Marcia King, David Bailey informed <br /> that someone broke in through a window and stole petty cash and <br /> four-year-old lap--top computer that was not worth anything on the <br /> open market and that has not been used by Assessing for a long <br /> time. The camera was left untouched among other worthwhile <br /> in entoy . Lengthy discussion fol lowed,& <br /> ` Board of Assessors Meeting Schedule <br /> The next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled to take <br /> ace on Tuesday, October 14 , 1997 , at 6 : 00 p.m. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: <br /> There being no further business before The Board for <br /> discussion , Kenneth Porter made motion The Board adjourn the <br /> meeting; Marcia King made second the motion; motion passed; <br /> unanimous decision .
