Board of Assessors Meeting Page 2 <br /> NEVA/OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Update bar David Bal <br /> New Computer Software for ASsessing Department <br /> David Bailey informed that he met with the people <br /> from Vision Appraisal "they are dying for us to buy their <br /> software" . . because they do our consulting work and would <br /> like us to purchase it. before the Reval gets going. He explained <br /> that he is fairly hesitant to take the step at this late date <br /> . he had called just to talk with them . 0 " <br /> he was not <br /> really planning on burring it this year. Mr. Bailer pointed out <br /> that this issue is " i the air" we will see how it does. <br /> Vision will do almost anything for our commitment this year <br /> they are offering "bargain basement" prices .' .' <br /> David Bailey expressed opinion it would be quite <br /> risky for Assessing to do a Reval and a computer conversion at <br /> the same time starting at this late date, He will, <br /> however, get a. final price. He pointed out that, on the brighter <br /> side, much of the Building Department ' s computer software being <br /> purchased for the Permitting departments is now in partnership <br /> with Vision Appraisal so much more data can now be <br /> programmed and accessed than in previous years . <br /> The a i. Project <br /> ect <br /> David Bailer informed that he met with the people � <br /> from Applied eog-ra.phics , the consultant for this project; the <br /> t people eo le also met with Planning and DPW and will meet with <br /> some of the other departments perhaps in a weep or so to do <br /> their needs assessment, Mr. Bailey stated that he was very <br /> impressed <br /> "these guys really seemed on the ball ! ! " . They <br /> initially spent about lh hours with each Department Bead, thea <br /> spent another 1. hours with Mr. Bailey and several hours with <br /> Planning and DPW "they really seemed very thorough '. ! " <br /> i <br /> . Bailey also informed that the consultants <br /> brought along a lot of the products from projects they had <br /> consulted on . . . many from Newton, a f ew f roan Nantucket . . . <br /> some really nice end products came . out of various mapping <br /> projects . Upon co hent f rom slice Chairman Porter, David Bailey <br /> pointed out that the people he met with are really just <br /> consulting for us they are not doing the mapping work. <br /> They are helping us prepare e an RPP and are prioritizing how the <br /> money is spent. They will identify what we can purchase with the <br /> nonewe have and how best to spend it. <br />
