TONIN OF MASHPEE BOARD OF ASSESSORS Minutes of the. fleeting of Wednesday, August 30, Zoo Board Members Present: Also Present: Jason Streebel Tony Podlesney, Assistant Director of Assessing Paul Andrews Sheldon Holzer Chairman Jason Streebel called the,meeting to order ai 5;45 PM. Jason officially welcomed Sheldon Holzer as a new member to the Board of Assessors. Mr. Horner was appointed to the Board at the last Board of Selectmen's meeting. His term will expire in 2009. REVIEW of MINUTES The minutes from the,reefing of August 9, 2006 were amended as follows: Page 1, under Also Present,Tong Podlesne 's title should read Assistant Assessor: Page 1, under BOARD of ASSESS RS REPORT,#21 til lass.Workshop, the first two sentences should read as follows: Mason Streebel reported that he had been in attendance of a Commercial Valuation coarse? held at the annual MAAO school of UMA SSIAmherst. There were 240 people in attendance at the school. Paul Andrews made a,notion to approve as corrected the minutes of the meeting held on 8/09/06. Jason Streebel seconded the ,notion. All approved. BOARD RESTRUCTURING Paul Andrews rade a ,notion that Jason Streebel be appointed Vice Chairman of the BOA. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. All approved. Jason Streebel ,made a ,notion that Pawl Andrews be appointed Chairman of the BOA. Sheldon Horner seconded the motion. All approved. Jason Streebel made 'motion that Sheldon Holzer be appointed cleric to the BOA. Paul Andrews seconded the ,notion. All approved. PauI Andre vs acknowledged the outgoing chairman's hard-work, dedication and ability during his tenure as Chairman. The Board of Assessors and the Assessing Office will continue to depend on his wealth of knowledge, going forward. } ASSISTANT ASSESSOR'S REPORT 1. Tong Podlesney reported that there is a new Data Collector that will be staving in the Assessing Office, pending final approval by the Board of selectmen. This is notia new position, but a vacant Assessing Office position that is being filled. The candidate was selected by the Town, hais gone through the background checks, was made an offer, and accepted. . The Director of Assessing position vacancy has yet to be posted and/or advertised. Paul Andrews will f lfo wr up with the Town Manager's office next week to determine the timeframe for moving forward with posting the job. . Jason Streebel reported that at a recent!,meeting, the Board of selectmen decided that they do not want to fund any new part time positions. It is not clear what this does to the status of the already-approved pant bme position for the Assessing Office.
