F REVIEW of MINUTES The Board unanimously approved the minutes from the BOA meeting held on Wednesday, Nov. 1 b# 00 . BOARD of ASSESSORS REPORT Paul Andrews reported on email correspondence he exchanged today with the Town manager's office regarding the presentation of Gregg Fraer's name for appointment to the Board of Assessors at the Board of Selectmen's meeting tonight. In his email to the Town Manager, Pawl expressed his disappointment that the Board of Assessors had not been given advance notification that a letter of interest had been received by Town Fall from Gregg Fraser. The fetter of interest was dated 11/06106. According to Rene Reed, a copy of the fetter had been forwarded to the Assessors office. Paul's concern was with the issue of lack of communication which had surfac d in the recent past between previous-Directors of Assessing and the Town Manager's office. Town Manager Joyce Mason responded to Paul Andrews that she would ensure that there would_be lime allowed for input from the Board of Assessors before Gregg Frasers name would be presented for appointment to the BOA by the Board of Selectmen. j Jason Streebel stated that he had seen a copy of the letter of interest from Gregg Fraser. The letter indicated that currently Gregg Fraser is Chairman of the Board of Assessors in Falmouth. Mr. Fraser is a resident of Mashpee. After discussion, the Board agreed that Mr. Fraser seemed well qualified to serge on the Mashpee BOA, and would recommend approval of the appointment j to the Board of Selectmen. r DIRECTOR of ASSESSING REPORT i I 1. Tax Rate Recap sheets for the Water Dept.and the Town of Mashpee. Jason Streebell stated that the purpose of tonight's meeting was to sign the tax nate recap sheets for the Water Department and the Town of Mashpee. The DOR has not fret given first approval on our growth figures and will not decide on the tax split until some bine between now and Dec. 1 Ith. The Board of Selectmen will delay their vote on the tax sprit until after the DOR decision is made. The Mashpee tax bills are scheduled to be mailed out on Dec. 29th. The Board members signed off on the tax rate recap sheets for both the Water Dept. and the Town of Mashpee. . Real Estate Supplemental Tax Abatement Applications Bruce Anderson stated that the property owners at 41 S aview Lane, 43 Seavie v Lane,49 Seaview Lane, 64 Seaview Lane and 37 Seaview Lame had received supplemental tax bills, and that their sale pace did not reflect what the supplemental bills stated. It had been anticipated that the sales pace would go cep, but that did not happen. Bruce Anderson recommended that the Assessors office abate the tax bills to reflect the sale price.
