. Jason Streebel stated thathe is working on putting together subdivisions for the FY <br /> 2009 maps. <br /> . The Assessing Dept.just submitted its FY 2008 request for reimbursement for <br /> exemptions to the State, amounting to just shy of$76,000. The Assessing Dept. <br /> granted approximately $149,000 in personal exemptions in 2008. <br /> . The Assessing Dept. has experienced some trouble with the 2008 maps as a result of <br /> technical printing problems in the GIS Department. The maps, due November 2007, <br /> have been'given a completion date of the end of July at the earliest. Jason Streebel <br /> expects to have.the '09 set of maps completed by October 2008. <br /> S. Jason Streebel reported that Torn 111IcManamin's six month probationary period is up <br /> in a couple of weeks. Jason stated that Mr. Mc lanarnin is doing a great job, is a quick <br /> learner and has just completed a backlog of building permits, making the Assessing <br /> F Department current through December 2007. <br /> 8. Jason Streebel reported that the posting has been approved for a part time staff <br /> person for the Assessing Dept. The hours and dams will be worked out, with flexibility <br /> worked into the schedule depending on the candidate's needs. <br /> 7, Jason Streebel reported that there are seven Appellate Tax Board cases currently <br /> going on. There is-one 2007 case held over for Harborside Nursing Horne. July 14th is <br /> the hearing date for this case. Theme is one level three.LLC telecommunications parse. <br /> There are fire residential cases: Robert a &Auta P. Hendier, Edwin & Bryna Kaplan, <br /> Michael & Beth Moskowitz, Yvonne Courtney, and Iris Perry. These cases were denied <br /> their abatement applications. Jason Streebel invited any interested BOA members to <br /> accompany him on these field case taps when scheduled. <br /> 8. Jason Streebel reported on a Veterans Disability Abatement applicati ri from <br /> Stephen Johnson, who is a Purple Heart Veteran retuned from Iraq. Mr. Johnson has <br /> already paid his fakes and has qualified for a Disabled Veteran license plater but for <br /> personal reasons does not want to display his Purple Heart distinction on his license <br /> plate. The problem nth the application is that there is no documentation from the VA to <br /> substantiate his quest for a disability exemption. The Board agreed to continue the <br /> decision on Mr. Johnson's application until the necessary documentation from the VA <br /> has been received. <br /> Paul Andrews reported that a later dated May 8, 2008 had been received from Martha <br /> Rudman, asking for an explanation of her abatement application denial. Jason Streebel <br /> responded in a letter to Mils,'Rudman, statins that the decision was based on 2006-2007 <br /> and not 2007-20property valuations. <br /> The next BOA meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, duly 8, 2008, at 5:15 PM in the <br /> Assessing Office.
