PUBLIC COMMENTS i None REVIEW of MIN UTES of JULIA 8, 2008— Public session and Executive session A motion was made, seconded and passed to approve as preserved the Public Session minutes of the BOA meeting of July 8, 2008. The following-correction was made to the BOA 07/08/08 Executive Session Minutes: Page 1, under 1. ohima, Inc. aka Harborside, paragraph 1, line 5, correct the spelling of the name Whitkin to Witkin. motion was made, seconded and passed to approve as corrected the Executive session minutes of the BOA meeting of July 8, 2008. BOARD of ASSESSORS REPORTS No reports. DIRECTOR of ASSESSING REPORT 1. New Assistant Director of Assessing. Jason Streebel announced that James Bond has been hired to fill the part-time position of Assistant Director of Assessing. Jason Streebel stated that Mr. Bond's background includes part-time work as an appraiser, data collecting experience, and has served on several Assessing Boards. Mr. Bond, a resident of Duburr, will be continuing his part-time appraisal work outside of Ilashpee. fir. Bond will be working a 19-hour week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, :30 AM to 130 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 80.30 PM to 3-00 PM on Wednesdays. Mr. Bond will begin work on August 25, 2008, and will begin a 6 month probationary period. 2. Request for Reimbursement of Motor vehicle Taxes to Veterans. Jason stre bel stated that Mashp a is the first town in the state to apply for, and receive, motor vehicle tax rel rnbuNrsements to veterans for '07 and '08, due some time in September. Reimbursements for the calendar year '07 Will be $2611.67 and $2421.46 for the calendar year rob. Letter to Real Estate Research consultants, Jason Streebel reported that a letter had F been sent to Brian Pelletier, President of the RISC, informing hire that Mashpee would not be renewing his yearly contract for the upcoming fiscal year. The Town, in a strictly financial decision, negotiated the collection of commercial personal property listings into the contract with our current mass appraisal valuation consultant, without increasing out of pocket expense. The letter thanked Mr. Pelletier for his excellent service to the Town in the past. The decision will result in a $10, 0 savings for the Town.
