Preview of Classification Hearing (see Attachment E <br /> Jason Streebel reported that-he contacted Terrie Cook, the B S liaison to the Board o <br /> Assessors, to offer a presentation to the B S, as there are two new Selectmen on the <br /> Burd. Terrie Cook felt that it would not be necessary. Jason Streebel will have the <br /> . sane handouts with the new numbers available for the BOB. <br /> Jason Streebel stated that out of 168 small business properties in Mashpee, 120 are <br /> leased properties, meaning that the landlord and not the business owner would profit <br /> from the adoption of a small business exemption. The number of owner-occupied small <br /> businesses and properties that would benefit is 30. <br /> Gregg Fraser made a motion that the Board move into Executive Session, to return to <br /> Public Session, in order to comply with-the provisions of General Law MGL Chapter 59, <br /> Section 60, to discuss abatement applications, the contents of which are not public <br /> record. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. . <br /> Roll Dail Vote: Paul Andrews, Yes; Sheldon Holzer, yes, Gregg Fraser, yes. The <br /> motion.was unanimously approved. <br /> The Public session moved into Executive Session at 6:05 PM, and resumed at 6:24 PM. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> '!. Update on the FYI I DOR Recertification Process <br /> .Jason Streebel reported that Grace Sandell, DOFF representative, and consultant Paul <br /> Kapinos will be in the Assessor's office on the 7th and ' of October to go over the <br /> figures with .Jason in person. The residential figures will be the highlight of the meeting <br /> with Grace and Paul i apinos. Commercial figures will be reviewed at a later date. <br /> Jason stated that early numbers indicate a % drop in valuations, which is in line with <br /> + other towns around the Cape similar in size to Ilashpee. <br /> 2. Update on Exern.pt Properties to be Taked for FYI I (see Attachment D <br /> Jason Streebel recommended that the Board remove the attached list of properties from <br /> ExernpVCharitable Status. } <br /> Gregg Fraser made a motion that the attached list of properties do not meet the statutory <br /> requirements and therefore should be removed from the charitable status qualification <br /> for the year 2011. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously <br /> approved. <br /> BOARD REORGANIZATION <br /> Gregg Fraser made a motion that Sheldon Holzer be elected Chairman of the Board of <br /> Assessors. Paul Andrews seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously <br /> approved. i <br /> Paul Andrews made a motion that Gregg Fraser be eluted Ilio Chairman of the Board <br /> of Assessors. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously <br /> approved. <br /> Gregg Fraser made a motion that Paul Andrews be elected Clerk of the Board of <br /> Assessors.
