2 <br /> Capital Improvement Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> November 2,, 1999 <br /> CIP Submissions Review: <br /> The following Capital Improvement needs were discussed; <br /> Health- paler. : <br /> Elias McQuaid,Beard of Health Agent discussed his capital improvement <br /> program summary and estimated disbursement of funds for the Transfer <br /> Station. Improvements are necessary to remain in compliance with State <br /> regulators and to better serve the residents of the Town of Mahpee. <br /> Mr. McQuaid indicated that drainage, erosion control and recycling <br /> improvements have been prioritized for fiscal year 2001 in lieu of <br /> the initial request for pavement and traffic control measures. <br /> The Committee agreed to place in year#I of the Capital Improvement <br /> Program,the sung o $60,000 for Transfer Station hnprovements relative <br /> to drainage, erosion control and recycling improvements as suggested. <br /> The sum of$70,,000 for pavement and traf c control was placed in the <br /> Y2002 disbursement estimation at this time. <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public Works will be consulted with regards t <br /> providing assistance for future pavement repairs. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to recycling improvements and the use <br /> of compactors. Mr. McQuaid indicated haat the issue is expected to cone <br /> before the Recycling Improvement Committee. Funds may be available <br /> from the Recycling Account for said purpose. If funds are not readily <br /> available,the item may appear as a capital improvement request. It was <br /> noted that a compactor is estimated to cost$10,0 o, Mr. McQuaid <br /> indicated that he would apprise the Committee at the neat meeting. <br /> The Board of Health has funded general site improvements and repairs <br /> through this year's budget and is expected to increase fees for the disposal <br /> f bulky waste items such as Mattresses, regerators and propane tanks. <br />
